Complete Garbage
Bought the Amcrest camera for my home. From day one, connectivity has been a total nightmare. If you’re lucky enough to get the camera to connect, just wait. The next time you may not be so lucky. My latest attempt when the camera stopped connecting for no apparent reason, through wifi or Ethernet was a total failure, and I’m a tech guy that everyone turns to for help. It’s simply a poorly designed system. 2.4 GHz network, it doesn’t matter. Failure after failure! Today, I threw my camera in the garbage and ordered a competitor’s model, of which I already have their doorbell camera that works like a charm.

App is an Afterthought to Amcrest!
Cameras are great. But that’s where the pros of Amcrest camera systems end. Wish we’d have gone with another company from the beginning, but with 21 total cameras, we’re unfortunately committed at this point. The app itself is ABYSMAL! Amcrest just doesn’t care to improve anything here. Not much has changed in this app in 7-8 years.
Main complaints: 1) The user interface is NOT user friendly. 2) The cameras viewed in favorites MUST remain in the camera channel order and CANNOT be reordered so you have the cameras arranged how you want. PLEASE fix this! 3) You cannot save the camera layout of your live view, so every time you switch between favorites groups, you just rearrange all the cameras again. 4) The ability to rename the camera (instead of “channel #”) doesn’t work - though the help menu suggests that you can modify this. Overall wouldn’t recommend going with Amcrest if you don’t already have a camera system. Try one of the other major companies

Tried to set up camera - can’t detect the wifi, phone(iPhone 13) can’t seem to connect -

Can’t view more than one camera I have four and recently,This app use to perform better but now? Not so good
Server is dead
Thé caméra are ok but the server is dead. Gone. I dont remember when I could watch with the app. I use an other app for it. The IP CAM VIEWER PRO but you need to enter the Ethernet IP or inside home IP and password and the camera brand manually

- Super fast to open and get cameras viewing
- Audio works
- Image quality is good
- notifications work very well
It’s bad in some others:
- UI is from 1999
-Many features are hard to find and remember where they are once you find them
- no Picture in Picture is just silly at this point
- inability to disable camera slots, once you select a device it re-enables all previously disabled cameras

Full of BUGs
The software is really defective. Doesn’t work to setup the cam for multiple features. Playback works, but sometimes only. You cannot configure mouvement detection and more. This shouldn’t be for sale.. it is to much defective.
A cam without software is useless. The software for mac doesn’t exist. The one for iPhone is useless unless you just wanna look the live stream.

Worse than having bed bugs
This app is garbage. Constantly stops working. Support is useless - spend 1.5hrs with reps who have no idea what’s going on and continue putting me on hold. What a waste of time.
Pretty good
Can watch my property remotely and play back recordings from Amcrest nvr. 👍🏻
