Spectacularly awful experience as always
It’s always a fight to get a book onto whatever device I’m trying to use. The most recent effort took 45 minutes of troubleshooting. Barrier after barrier is thrown in the way of accessing content i have paid for on a device i own, and once it’s on there it loads slowly and has very few formatting options so often looks rubbish, with no option to view the book in the device’s native reader. All this in the name of copyright protection. Did you know that more nefarious souls than i can seamlessly find, download and install a DRM-free epub directly onto any device they like within 5 minutes and read it on the app of their choice? No wonder ebook piracy is out of control - it’s easier and more pleasant. Restrictive, poorly-programmed DRMware like this is screwing readers and authors alike.

Low quality, poorly designed
As a visually impaired person, I need to use assistive technology to access books. The font size slider is broken. Standard voice over commands don’t work. Animation moving pages cannot be disabled. No alternate navigation options.
In short, Adobe needs to get a grip and sort this out. It is not an acceptable standard for public release.
The signup is confusing. The system needs scrapping and starting again. It appears Adobe do not respond to feedback so not hopeful.

Stunningly bad!
All the issues written about in the other 1 star reviews are there for me. The book I purchased is unreadable (unless I want to be content with not being able to read numerous pages in the book). I note there are reviews going back a couple of years discussing this problem. It is puzzling to me that a well established and well regarded developer such as Adobe a) can’t get their app to work after all that time and b) are happy to leave it out there in the market ripping people off .

Worse digital reading app ever
Given how big Adobe is as a company, I’d happily give 0 star if that’s an option. The whole app is very glitchy when loading the EPUB file, and it very frequently failed to load the next page when flipping pages, moreover, it frequently jumps multiple pages forward or backward when flipping pages. Imagine when you want to read the next page and it stay blank for more than 2 minutes, and you finally run out of patience and clicking the screen multiple times, it either gave no response after another 10 seconds of waiting, or suddenly brought you to some random page far back or ahead. Then you’re going through another round of long-wait-for-page-loading to navigate back to where all this headache began.

Useless, unlike any other Adobe app. Shouldn’t be in App Store.
Two academic e-books I’ve paid for are unusable because they depend on this app. Currently I use an iPad only and the help page states you have to install the purchased book on a computer and then transfer to iPad. The e-book seller doesn’t tell you before you pay. When I did use a desktop computer the book I’d paid for was still unusable. I resent the time I’ve had to waste to find this out. Adobe should not tolerate their brand being associated with this. Apple should remove it from the App Store. The app was last updated 3 years ago. So the e-book seller has been taking money whilst the similar reviews were online.

Intolerable
Can read one in ten or twenty pages. The rest are blank or weird smudges.
Terrible app
I spent hundreds of dollars on an etextbook through the publisher’s website, not knowing this would be the app it used. Not only is this app not available on MacBooks, making it hard to study with, 80% of the pages will not load. Even if I am on full wifi or mobile data, I am lucky if even half of a page is legible. I have never been ripped off more in my life. Stay away from this app.

Beware of the zombieware
UPDATE: The issue with accessing my purchase was resolved without explanation, so I can’t tell whether Adobe, the bookseller, or both caused the problem. Now I just have the lousy interface to deal with. STILL no update since 2018.
Tip: Before clicking on a footnote, remember your page number. After reading the footnote, you’ll have to navigate back to the page you were reading by typing in the page number.
POSTED IN 2020: This a barely adequate ebook reader. It is difficult to use. It frequently loses track of users’ books. And as I learned today, Adobe refuses to support it.

Active development of this app appears to have ended in 2018. Using it is like working with the walking dead. The book I purchased in 2020, which is only accessible through this app, has disappeared. Oh, the book still exists in the cloud. I can still authorize the app with my Adobe credentials. But the book cannot be recovered, for reasons that will not be explained. Adobe could not possibly care less about my lost purchase. They already received their percentage. Thanks to this experience, Adobe has lost my business for life.

Ridiculous !
I’ve just downloaded this app and there seems to be no way t9 use it for downloading books from my library to my Kobo Nia reader. I had to give it something, so 1 star - which was too much. This app is rubbish and I’d like Adobe to sort it out and make it useable.
Ne lis pas les livre
L’application ne reussit pas a lire les livres. Même le livre de adobe nest pas entièrement lisible.
