Reviews of FIXD OBD2 Scanner

  • 100$ automatically charged from my account

I bought the device from a post I saw on instagram, but a week after I started using it all of the sudden I’m charged 100$ dollars and I’m subscribed to their premium service—some insurance coverage Mumbo jumbo. I hate when companies do this, hoping it’ll be too much of a hassle or we won’t notice so they get their free recurring payments from customers. It feels like you’re stealing my money!

Sneaky subscription charges aside, the product is very useful and the app is well-designed. I’ll be using this very often, saves me a trip to autozone for diagnosis. Just annoyed me that they didn’t give me due diligence when charging me for their premium whatever. Had to go down a long funnel of ads and small links to cancel and refund the payment.
  • Horrible customer service

The app and sensor started out great. It worked right away when i needed it to. For about a year now i will try to scan the vehicle and it takes quite a bit of time for it to load up only to give me an option to select my vehicle or enter the VIN. I select my vehicle and then it just takes me back to the same screen of options. Then i put in the VIN and i get the same circle of options . Randomly it will work. I’ve emailed customer service countless times only for them to tell me to try the troubleshooting methods. It also takes days for them to get back. I respond to their try troubleshooting replies and i let them know i have but do it again and get the same problem. Once i was told my car won’t communicate with the sensor. It works fine with my others. They didn’t offer to send a new sensor. Just today i again was told to troubleshoot

    Developer Response

Hello, if the sensor works with other vehicles it's very likely there is a physical issue with the effected car. The long scan time is from the app repeatedly attempting to communicate with a car that simply won't respond. Check your OBDII port for debris, make sure your fuses are all good, and consider having a professional disconnect/reconnect the battery to reset the ECU (sometimes ECUs stop responding, which can also cause this issue). The good news is we are connecting to the sensor itself fine, as if that wasn't working you'd get a different error before we ever prompt you for a VIN
  • Get one as soon as you can!

They have sales but even if it were not on sale get one anyway. You can scan your friends car and show them how sweet this little device really is!!! Now when you use it on your own vehicles is where you save money and piece of mind. You can put in your mileage and turn on alerts, it will alert you when to change your oil, and the big thing is preventative maintenance. You will realize the second time you use it, you made one of the best purchases ever!!! I used this little device a lot and not having the complete package served it’s purpose but now I am going to upgrading to get all the services!!! I should copyright this phrase, Just get it You won’t regret it!!!
