Total garbage app
I bought this remote/focus stacker app a few years ago to use on my iPhone and a Nikon D7100. It has linked up to WiFi once or twice. So I haven’t used it since 2017.
Now in 2021 I thought I would try again with my Nikon D500 and iPhone 8 running the latest iOS. And again, no connection at all.
And to add insult to injury. Tried to contact the company from their web page. And guess what? Yep! That won’t work either. What a waste of $50.

Working well with a Nikon D7500
Initially, Thus was a bit of a fiddle getting the app to recognise the camera over wifi. It did not auto detect the camera. Finally I added the camera manually, with its IP address and got it working. Connecting to the camera each time is very slow -at least 1 minute. But once it connects, it stays connected fine. I believe all these issues are with Nikon’s wifi chip/software, not the app.
once connected, using the app is very easy, focus shifting works well, live view on the iPhone screen is great. The app would crash if I set “Transfer photos to phone”, but works great if I have it at “leave photos on camera”.

Does not work MOST OF THE TIME
I’ve had the app “work” before, yes, and it’s great when it does. But note that you should absolutely never expect it to work, this way it’s a crazy surprise when it actually does, like you won the lottery while being struck by lightning AND enduring a shark attack in shallow water. Not the best odds, but you better get out of the water I guess, because IF that lightning strikes, look out (because when this stupid app does work it’s amazing)

Useless app
Completely unable to connect this app to my Canon T7i. I went through the connect process, the camera goes into live view, but the Helicon app says the camera isn’t connected and then drops the connection.
The Helicon website offers no insight, except to say that the app supports T7i.
I will remember this when I buy my stacking software

iOS 14 issue with Helicon Remote?
App worked as expected prior to latest iOS update. I use 2 mobile devices (one at a time depending upon project). One device accepts the registration but cannot connect to the camera. The second device says my registration is expired. Both worked fine prior to the iOS update.
Malisima

Crashes on iPhone 11 Pro
It won’t open.
Works as described
Works with compatible WIFI cameras
Not compatible
App claims to be compatible with the Nikon D7100. It does not recognize it. Don’t waste your money.
Wanted to love this.
App is a little slow when shooting with my Nikon D600, plus one thing not mentioned when I downloaded (and spent $60+ on a wu-1b) the app is that you need to buy the pro version to use a lot of the settings, like raw and bracketing. I was ok with this but there no light meter and “live” view doesn’t show what the photo will be exposed like. So for me it just didn’t work, love the idea of it and if they add a light meter and make it run faster I would buy it again.
