  • Level 179 seems unbeatable

Love this game, ads are annoying but acceptable, perfectly capable of beating every level without any in-app purchases, and I wish updates were more frequent. But with the latest update (to level 180), level 179 appears to be unbeatable, as another reviewer wrote. You need 30 orange dots but only 6 appear in the level. Even after collecting all of the required purple and brown dots, as well as the 6 available orange, no more orange appear. Is this a bug or am I just not understanding something?

  • Another scam

Got excited at first, but this is just another pay to play scam. Gets impossible really fast, and unlike the ptp games I actually enjoy there's no way to make coins in game. Around every corner there's a trick to get you to accidentally spend coins, and when you run out of lives you have to wait five seconds before the x shows up, leaving you with pay to continue or ask friends to help. It's cheap and crummy. Honestly there's so many good ones out there that keep you hooked I don't see how the creators think they can get away with this without chasing players away. Don't waste your money, even buying coins is way more expensive than other, better games.

  • Seriously expensive

Actually, I think this is a great game. But you should know that it eventually becomes impossible to play without buying coins, and the coins are absurdly expensive. There is no way whatsoever to earn them. An example: a level in which 90% of the dots have pins, the pins spread, the pinned dots are uncolored so can only be taken out with a pin remover, and the only way to get a pin remover is to purchase one. Earlier on, I purchased a 10 dollar coin pack and it lasted - don't know exactly, a couple levels. Then I thought I'd just play without coins -until I got to levels that couldn't be solved without them. I got the 30 dollar pack, thinking it was outrageous, but justified if, with careful use, it would last many hours of game play. Nope - the further you get, the more they're required. Obviously the makers assume you will get "addicted" and keep buying - gross. I refuse. Delete!

  • Zen little time waster

Simple little strategy game that quickly becomes addictive. It took a few rounds to get the hang of the rules and even 10 levels in, I still find the level goals vague, but the simple design and calming music make me want to keep going. Ads are clumsily implemented and pull you out of the game, so paying for the ad free experience is recommended.

  • More levels please!

I've played the game to completion through level 90. More levels please! Quickly!

I have to laugh at some of the other reviews. There are ads but i am always able to tell when one is due to pop up so i don't find them too bothersome. I actually like the fact that there is little instruction to game play.

  • complaint to the (must be starving?) developers

The basic gameplay is good. I'm even ok with having to buy (or not buy) boosters/coins, instead of having the option to slowly earn them, which is what most games do.

BUT - the morass of ads is just totally insane. I know other reviews point this out, but I figure if enough people comment the devs might address it.

I'd PAY for the "remove ads" option, even at the rediculous current price, if it also removed the flashing facebook pushes and the constant hawking of boosters and coins. Maybe it does, I can't tell without purchasing, but I doubt it. Please, you guys, its totally ok to make a few bucks. but this really hurts the experience, and makes me distrust your other games.

Would have been 4 stars, but only giving you 2.

PS - No way to quit playing the game without losing a heart? Are you really that broke???

  • Dotello

This is a fun, lively game that challenges the brain. And the bright colors lift your spirits just to look at them. But I wish there was easy access to answers for the many questions I have. For instance: How many points do you get for a particular move? Is there a way to get the pin removers or do they appear randomly? Why are dots in one part of the board removed when I'm working in another part?

  • Major bugs, but fun, needs upgrade

I was addicted to this game when I first downloaded it 2 weeks ago, however now when I log in it thinks I just finished a game and I am instantly down one heart. Also frequently in the level I am playing even if my move clears three dots it will say game over no further moves... Like it didn't recognize I just cleared some space. This is very frustrating and cost the game 3 stars for me. I am going to stop playing if it doesn't upgrade soon. Fix these bugs.

  • Addictive

Dotello is one of my favorite games right now. I love it!

The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is because there isn't a "retry" button after each level. I've finished all the levels at the moment and am trying to get 3 stars on all of them. Without a "retry" button I have to keep searching down the list to find the one I was working on.

  • Fun gameplay, semi-annoying wrapper

Love the gameplay. Been anxiously awaiting new levels.

Having to tell it not to post to Facebook every time is annoying, as is the lag in displaying ads (which results in unintended click-throughs).

And it cracks me up that nobody in QA or elsewhere knows the difference between "loose" and "lose" in the latest update (prominently misspelled in the intro screen for the first new level - #61). Must all live in California...
