Useless App
Wifi won’t connect to iPhone app. I tried all available tips in the internet but nothing worked. They should take this app out from the App Store coz the developers don’t care anymore and don’t want to update it! I would avoid buying yi action camera from now on. They really thought ignoring this app issue won’t affect their sales! Well, I already sold mine and went back to GoPro!

App hasn’t been updated in a year
Is a great camera to record 4K videos and if you’re not into livestream or controlling the camera with your phone, this might be a great option for you, unfortunately the app hasn’t been updated in more than a year, it seems that Xiaomi doesn’t care anymore about the app and the connectivity of the camera.

If only I could give it a zero.
Camera was purchased for Facebook live. That never worked from the beginning 3 years ago. Up until a few month’s ago, no issues linking to phone. Now, nothing works. The camera and app will go straight to the trash after softball season which is a shame because the camera takes excellent videos but is otherwise useless.

Won’t show on app what’s on camera
When it works it’s great but - soooo difficult to get it to work that you mine as well buy the GoPro - the money you save is not really worth this hassle
Call the exterminator, this app has lots of bugs in it!
Although the Yi developers had some great innovative ideas for the action cam app, It has many bugs in it. It also freezes often especially when running 2.7 k or 4 k videos. Also camera to phone WiFi has a tendency to disconnect even within 5 ft of the camera. Several other bugs to list... not to mention you get Chinese character messages popping up sometimes. The user should be able to read only 1 language of choice.

YI will no longer support the App/Action Camera
In case no knows, Yi Tech will no longer support the app or the Action Camera, so don’t expect anymore updates to the app. Such bad support for a great camera. Smh.. Here is the press release I found online.

Works Really Great
Lots of people giving bad rating due to connection issues. I just downloaded this app again after I found my Yi cam.
Connected quickly without any issues (apart from forgetting the password which was prompted by app - that was a nice touch).
There’s still the same old lag when I’m too fast with changing settings. But GoPro have this too so I think it’s just a natural thing for connections to lag if changes are done too fast.
The editing feature is quite good too. Not sure if this is new but it’s quick and easy to use. Especially the filters and crop.
Downloading photos to my phone seems faster now too and doesn’t break anymore.

App is working again
Finally after months the app is able to connect to the camera

It has been 3 months since I contacted the developer as the new IOS 13 doesn’t work on my Yi4K+ camera (does not find it to connect) but still no reply nor any update on this App! I will not buy again any Yi Cameras!
