Translations would make this app perfect.

If this app had English translations of the original text, it would be much more useful.

Fantastic

This is a wonderful gift of reference and extremely helpful. The only thing that I find very inconvenient is that they do not include the translations of the text, which would be very helpful. I’ve tried to distinguish what would be better about this app versus the website. I would use this app much, much more and it would be better than the website if the translations into English etc. we’re included! Please do so!! Otherwise, this is an amazing and life giving app!!!!

Unbelievably Excellent!

By far the best app I have ever bought! It is an absolute must have for any music lover and is an indispensable listening companion for the cantatas. Not only is it beautifully presented, it is very easy to navigate and make the most out of; it is clear that the developer has taken great care in designing this app and continues to care for it with frequent exciting updates. Thank you very much!

Excellent reference app forBach cantatas

This is an invaluable resource for anyone interested in Bach’s cantatas. Beautifully designed, the app is easy to use and comprehensive in its detail. The ability to search the database using different criteria is of great value. Very highly recommended.

Helpful, Thorough, and Easy to Use

I couldn’t help but download this when I came across it, given how much time I spend listening to Bach (especially his choral music). It’s very handy to have all of the texts and other details of the cantatas on hand. The app holds practically all the information you could want about each cantata and also makes it easy to search and sort them. Can’t remember the title of cantata Nr. 79? Don’t know the catalogue number for „Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele“? Want to know which cantatas were written for Advent? All easy. It’s awesome. The advanced searches can handle movement types, voicing, and instrumentation (including pre-built searches for, e.g., sinfonias or soprano–tenor duets). There's a database of chorale texts, too, that tells which cantatas use each chorale.

I really like the view that groups the cantatas “Starting today in the liturgical year”. It's an easy way to decide on a cantata (or three) to listen to each week when I'm out of ideas.

Plus, the developer responds directly to comments and requests. I emailed him recently about a couple of pieces that weren't in the app, and he responded the next day to acknowledge my request and give me a rough timeline for an update with the additions.
