  • Excellent!

The app does exactly what it says. It works seamlessly with my iPad Air 2 and my iPhone 11. Had a few issues with setup, but customer support was FAST with professional help. Highly recommend.

  • Keeps crashing

App keeps crashing on iPad Air first generation
  • Indispensable

If for some reason you find yourself away from your nicely set up office, working on a laptop and desperate for screen space — this app and an iPad are the answer. Nicely designed and stable; a recent bug was fixed within 24 hours of reporting.

    Developer Response

Sorry Ken. We're undergoing a proper TestFlight beta test with this new version 3.3.4, in order to avoid another misstep. It should be done very soon. —Pip
  • Misled-Unable to run on Catalina

I wanted to like this product and decided to try it over Duet Display. Unfortunately, my first impression to this product (after I already paid) was that it’s not yet supported for Catalina. First impressions even for apps meal a lot. I even emailed them before purchasing and telling them I had Catalina and they never said it wasn’t supported yet, so I decided to give it a try. Well, on their site the Instructions tell you to download the pay app on your iPad, then download the host app on you laptop. After paying 9.99, I then clicked on their link for the host app, then a second level link for Mac OS, only to be brought to a third link that tells me this doesn’t work for Catalina except for some technical complicated work around which may work. Needless to say I was feeling rather swindled after I told them I was running Catalina. Their advice was to hold on a few more days because they’re working on it. I will be going to Duet Display now.

  • Please don’t waste your precious time or money!!!!!!

I bought this app because my MacBook Air is having screen issues. I was hoping to use this so I wouldn’t have to hdmi to my tv with each use. I followed every step perfectly and once everything was installed it totally messed up my screen settings. After a frustratingly 45 min I finally got those fixed and tried to use it and I couldn’t even get it to connect to my MacBook!! I even tried the IP option with no luck. I tried using it on my iPad and iPhone as well and it wouldn’t connect to either of those! I looked up videos and watched their tutorials and tried every trouble shooting method I could find. After another good two hours of my life, I finally called it quits and removed it from every device I had. I tried emailing them for my money back and waited two or three business days for a response like the app said to do and I have yet to hear anything back. If I could have rated this lower than one star believe me I would have! No customer service at all for a product that is ten dollars too much! I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone! I’m so mad about throwing ten dollars I could have spent on food or gas, on something this pathetic!! You are literally robbing people for a faulty app! PLEASE DO NOT BUY!!!

  • Very Poor With Retina iMac

I bought Air Display 3 for the sole purpose of being able to use my iPad Air 2 as a wireless mirrored display for my Retina iMac. I was hoping to be able to run many of my MacOS apps using the iPad display. The result is absolutely terrible. Despite extremely fast wi-fi many apps would even open completely when using the app. They will start to open and then the spinning color wheel just spins until I eventually have to go to my iMac and force quit the app. Also, for some reason the top menu bar on the mirrored iPad display is all black (I assume it is showing black text on a black bar which is not what my iMac displays). If I move the cursor on the iPad to the location on the black bar where a menu item should be (i.e., the Apple icon, File, Edit, etc) and select I will get the dropdown menu, but it is trial and error trying to find the right icon (since it is obviously black text on black background). Even the aspects of the app that do work have extreme lag, again making this app virtually unusable. I really wanted this app to be as good as some of the reviews state, but for me it will be deleted. I just wish I could get back the wasted $9.99 I just spent on it. It might work in other instances for people with different Apple computers and/or different needs, but for me it was a waste.

  • Problems

Using Sierra with Air Display version 3.0.3. I've held off on giving this app a review to see if updates would fix issues but to no avail. I had version 1 a few years ago and was forced to purchase it again at version 3 for some reason. Quits after initial launch every time so have to re-launch. On the second launch it doesn't quit but there is serious lag. It's usable to reference something on another screen but I wouldn't count on being able to actually work with the documents opened on the secondary monitors using Air Display due to its lag. Haven't seen any updates in the many months I've been using it. And to top it off, it is rather pricey for a less than mediocre experience.

  • Fantastic

I used to use version 1 of this app, was trying to use a competing app that supports USB and claims 60fps that wouldn't do Retina correctly and was very slow - purchased this yesterday after seeing that USB was now supported and I couldn't be happier. I'm using my iPad Pro as a second screen off of my MBP, Retina works correctly, it's much faster (not for gaming, but that's not my goal...), and I just wish I had noticed the update a few weeks back.

The 1 star reviews over Windows support (or lack of) are a shame, if you have a Mac this is essentially seamless.

  • Great With IPad Pro

I have a Mac Mini and was thinking of getting a Mac Air but found this app! I connected my Mac Mini to my iPad Pro and now have a 12.9 Retina display as my primary and only monitor when on the go. The Mac mini is small enough to carry in my pc bag with my iPad Pro. So now when I am going to be stationary somewhere I just take both with me. The monitor looks amazing. The only issue is that when you boot the Mac Mini connected to only the iPad Pro you cannot see the login screen because the app is waiting for the program to load on the Mac. So I have to blindly login. But once logged in the screen opens up. I am using the usb connection. Please find a way for this app to recognize the iPad from the Mac on the login screen when it is the only monitor being used and this will be a 5. Thanks!

  • Love it

I use my ipad as a secondary monitor for photo editing efficiency, and the small fee for this app in nothing compared to the cost of a full-size monitor.
With the USB connection everything runs smoothly, unlike on wifi, which can be to choppy for my application.
The only gripe i have is that they don't have different names on the apps. Version 1 (wireless) and version 2 (usb) both have the same name. This means that if you have both installed the only way to tell the difference if by looking at the small difference in the icons. I know this is a silly gripe, but just letting them know.

    Thanks for the great apps!:)
