  • It’s nice and sweet

I wish there were an easy way to add all of the data one needs for a character (the copyrighted feats, spells, etc) but it’s workable. This program is the best way to whip up a character concept quickly. Much better than the official app for that.
  • Small problem, overall great

This app is great for 5e. It is worth the upgraded version. I bought it years ago and it has come incredibly handy all throughout, so if in doubt, purchase.

One small problem that I seem to have personally is that it keeps crashing on me and I lose all my progress. It didn’t use to happen in my previous phone. I’m looking for a way to contact support but there seems to be no way to. I’m using an iPhone X Plus.

To the developer(s); The in-app, the pages fit weird into the screen, like a little oversized. And when I swipe pages it sometimes overlaps and just as I can scroll from up to down in the features & equipment page I can also scroll from right to left. When I swipe pages or scroll from right to left it many times crashes and I lose all the last edits I did before the last hidden autosave or last time I closed and opened the app.

-I appreciate the yearly maintenance but would further appreciate a fix for this. Perhaps iPhone X Plus is not specifically supported? Or may it be something from my side which I could change with certain settings? I have tried re-downloading and it does not fix this issue.

I’ll be waiting for an answer, and thank you for your time.

  • A great app that needs an update

When it comes to character sheets for 5e D&D, this is one of the best. It tells you what your character can do, character creation is easy, and any features or abilities can be easily modified to fit with any homebrew. Sure, you need to pay to get higher leveled characters, but it’s a cheap one-time purchase that also gets rid of all ads. Sometimes, the rules text for abilities is hard to understand, but I just use dnd5ewikidot for the complete, free rules. Overall, the layout is great.

The character creation options, however, get a bit iffy. Every character race, subclass, background or feature after Wild Beyond the Witchlight is not yet in-app. If you want to make a Strixhaven or Spelljammer character without meticulously editing every aspect of your sheet, you are out of luck. All of these complaints just need a simple update to be fixed, and hopefully one will come soon as it has been over a year. Until then, my review sits at four stars.

  • Lots to love

This app was recommended by my local DDAL group. I really like the visual simplicity and nice bold and easy to read writing, good for people with visual impairments and/or those of us who need glasses to read as we get older! It’s logically organised and I really appreciate the summary of relevant race/class features in one easy spot.
The ease of character set up means you can experiment/play with different character ideas which is great. Then when you decide on something you can add the additional details.
Only minor finesse issues on my end, for example with the choice of background, the selection box is narrow and you can’t see which Guild you are selecting until you go out of the selection box. You will still need to use reference books e.g. to see what features you get from a particular background.
If you are playing a spellcaster and you like to change spells frequently, this might not work so well - but you could use spell cards or another method instead. If you have a relatively fixed spell list you should be fine.
And just ensure this is all backed up just in case 🙂.
Overall, very good product and thank you to the developer.

  • Update needed

I think that this app needs updating to cover material such as backgrounds and other class features provided by source books like Strixhaven ect. More options for weapons and weight that you can choose including the combined weight of carried objects and maybe spells list and details.
  • Wonderful !

This is a wonderful app that is priced well. It could be a little more robust and easier to make custom items/spells but otherwise this this is a godsend for those who don’t want to waste a tons of paper to continue printing character sheets.
  • It’s just okay.

Pretty easy to use. But needs more custom options, like adding Feats without being Lv4.

Some other things that don’t show properly like using Unarmed Fighting, it only shows up as 1d6, even though it’s supposed to be 1d8 if you aren’t using weapons/shields.
  • Possible bug

I think I found a possible bug… 6th lvl monk. I use 3 healing dice and so set my hit dice from 6d8 down to 3d8 but on a long rest it only goes up to 4d8. I believe healing dice are supposed to come back at a rate of 1/2 your level per long rest

    Otherwise amazing app 👍
  • Decent. Not the easiest to use

If you play a standard class, standard race
    It’s not too bad.
Very hard to undo any changes or to add temp HP
    Paid version is
    More convenient then paper.
  • An almost perfect app…

I would love more modifiers for weapons, as I have a 10(3d4+3) to track, as well as having full spells and information related to said spells.
