So much better than AirPlay!
I was already familiar with this app’s version for Google Chromecast on an old HD plasma tv, so when I replaced my tv with a state-of-the-art Samsung Ultra-Hd (4K) tv, I thought that by merely using my iPad’s AirPlay feature to cast streaming videos that are embedded into web pages would do the trick. Wrong! Problem is that AirPlay is very unstable, often not able to cast the video, or cutting off after a short time. In other words, it does a terrible job at that particular task.
Well, this app solves the problem. My videos now open easily in full screen mode, and do not crash like before. Try the free version first, but be aware that there are limitations such as functionality, and you may get interruptions due to annoying pop-ups. That’s ok, it’s the free version, a teaser basically. The premium version unlocks all feature, and at the time of purchase, is very reasonably priced, well worth it as far as I’m concerned.
I give it a 4 stars, as perhaps some technically-challenged people may struggle to set it up and use some functions. The most important thing to know when setting up is that there are two downloads to perform: one on your casting device (the transmitter so to speak), and one on your tv (via the Smart Samsung tv App Store), therefore the receiver app. Then follow the instructions so that the apps become linked together (IP adresses will have to be entered so as to match). So then, when the video is shown being casted on the tv, it will appear as a rather small box. Don’t panic, one more step to do, simply click enter on your tv remote and voila, the video stream now fills the entire tv screen in the broadcast quality of the originating server’s source.
Note that two very useful functions that are not available with the free version are scrolling, and one big crucial one, the ad-blocking feature.

The purchases only provide you with additional features like an ad-blocker and alike. As a company we need to have a source of income to be able to still develop and work on the app. That is why we offer features like the ad-blocker or the playbar for sale.
