This is a great way to help the community!
I’ve been using the app a long time and have never been able to give back as much as I do now. While I love volunteering, work makes it very hard to find time. With GiftAMeal, I have been able to help support food banks and shelters in my neighborhood give to those in need by simply checking into restaurants on my lunch breaks. I haven’t experienced any major bugs or issues since downloading the app. Also, I reached out with a couple questions and the team got back to me really quickly. It seems like they really care about their social mission. I would encourage everyone to download and start giving back. It’s really easy to use.Show lesshaydenondabeat

I was eating at one of my favorite new restaurants in St. Louis, The Chocolate Pig, and my waiter mentioned that they had recently partnered with this startup called GiftAMeal where anyone at the restaurant could give a meal to someone in need in St. Louis for free. So I decided to check out the app and was really impressed that it only took like 10 seconds to donate a meal. What an ingenious way to try to fight hunger. I saw that there were a bunch of my favorite restaurants on the app as well so I will definitely be using GiftAMeal the next time I go!Show lessKaushansky

I love using GiftAMeal to give back when I’m going out to eat anyway! My favorite spots to use it are Gioia’s, Three Kings, and Fort Taco.Jhellst
This seems like a cheap fad; buggy app
First, the app is really buggy. It crashes pretty frequently. While the GUI is decent, this is a for-profit company trying to solve a non-profit problem. Not too many restaurants are using this, even in St. Louis, and for a good reason: put your phone away at the table and enjoy the meal. I don’t think this will catch on as a social media craze. This is, at best, a fad that will be tried a few times and put away. Donate to your local homeless shelter or help serve food at the food pantry.Show lessDudeman53728

Thank you for the feedback. We are proud to be a for-profit social venture that believes profit and purpose are not inconsistent goals. Donating to a local homeless shelter and serving food at a pantry are both amazing things to do -- our team volunteers as well. GiftAMeal is by no means the only way to make an impact, but we have been able to donate tens of thousands of dollars already to feed the hungry in our community.
