for me this is the best app for vinyl collecting…and i’ve tried them all… it has the tag feature which i have used a lot... i like to have sub-categories and tags allows this. you can switch between users which is good for me too. you can change the colors as well. i will also say this app is definitely kept up to date with issues, bugs, etc. excellent. you can sort your collection several ways…by artist, title, label, etc…i do wish one of these was “random”… so i could sort my collection randomly… 5 stars app

The issue with folders and Wantlist is probably caused by an update of the OAuth libraries in Discogs that have broken the requests made by Discographic to the server. This change without prior notice made the folders and wants disappear from the app as they could not be updated. This is fixed now and the app will work again as expected in the next update (4.6.7). Sorry for the inconvenience. Discographic is a 3rd party Discogs app and some issues like this one are out of our control. On the other hand, the crashes you reported on the last review have been located and fixed on the current version. Thanks for pointing that out. ************************* Thanks for the feedback. If you report us via Discographic@fluido.es when your app crashes we can fix it ASAP. Anyway, we will check the crash logs provided by Apple to try to solve the problem. We re constantly updating the app with bug fixes and speed improvements. Having said that, we didn’t experienced the problem you reported that tapping on one release the app opens a wrong one. That’s almost impossible due to the way folders are populated (the only way this issue can happen is if the app wrongly takes another data source to get the release). On the other hand it is absolutely imposible that tapping on a tag would open the “All” folder. Tags and Folders work different and cannot be mixed up by mistake. The only ways I think it would happen is due to a lag on the app (tapping first the “All” folder that doesn’t open immediately and then tapping a tag. As the user actions are queued by the app, the “All” would be opened first, no matter if the user tapped a tag afterwards).
  • App used to be great

The app doesn’t work anymore. You have to delete it every day and reinstall it for it to work for a couple hours. RIP the main point of the app is to add to your collection but you can no longer do that. It doesn’t show the artist you scan or even the album. I understand that Discogs changed something but this app should be compatible or what’s the point?!

All other app features are working good, as ever. Yo can retrieve info about an artist or release, you can scan barcodes and locate albums using Discogs’ database. The only feature is failing is artists’ Discographies, as explained below. ******* (original answer 08-22-2023)******* I’m sorry that you consider that an app with dozens of useful features “doesn’t work anymore” just because one of those features has stopped to work. The “Discography” section fetchs its data from Discogs website (not from the API) and it’s failing because Discogs has changed the way the page is constructed, so the data cannot be scrapped anymore. Discogs doesn’t provide and endpoint to get a meaningful chronological discography via API, so this section of the app will disappear in the next update as it starts to fail.
  • down to 2 stars

i have this app 5 stars in a previous review. now it's down to 2. first it's the crashing. every time. and i mean every time i use it. i paid for the pro version too. also i see others have this problem where you click on an album and you get a completely different album. or you are in a tag and it just takes you to the ALL folder. right now i'm looking for another similar app to use. i'll pay, i'm just sick of this app

  • Bricked App

I can’t understand why you removed the all category on your app. If I put a band in multiple genres I can no longer see all the albums I own by one band at one time. I have to scroll through multiple genres. This essentially bricks your app for me as a tool to purchase records while I am at the store.

Edited: I found the All button it is now under the new Pro settings which I did not see had been added. I don’t mind paying for pro. Yo7r app is invaluable to me. I have changed my rating.

  • Awesome, but...

This is the definitive Discogs app and I love the recent series of updates. However - my biggest ongoing frustration are with the sorting features. The implementation / interface is great, but it just doesn’t work consistently. I’ll change the sort for a title and it will continue to be in the same (incorrect) spot. This is a maddening bug that never seems to get corrected. Outside of that, this App is A+

Update 2023: the two recent updates wiped out all my soarting data, so I have to start all over again. Seems to be an ongoing weakness of this app.

Last update erased all custom sorting data by accident. This was not a general issue but some users had reported me this fact. I’m sorry. This will never happen again. On version 4.5 all custom data is saved on iCloud and synched automatically between devices so it will be available even when replacing your device. On a side note, Discographic has become a fairly complex app, with a lot of features over the years. When adding or modifying features on the app some other ones can be affected. Even with a complete testing sometimes some bugs arrive to final users unnoticed. This is an issue we are fighting all over the years but we are committed to make the app more and more stable everyday.
  • love it. 5 stars on the pro version.

i love this app, i use it more than discogs, mainly the ability to change colors, etc.
However! 😁 i do wish that i could “flip” through my collection as if i was flipping through vinyl at a store. and if i see one i like i can “pick it up” and flip it over if the mood should strike. or at least view one album at a time with the option to go forward or backward one album in the collection (per sort mode, ie…by title).

  • Excellent App

Far superior to the native Discogs app in every way—they should buy this one. Looks better, works better, more fun to browse.
  • Simple system to catalogue your vinyl

Easy to use system for keeping an organized catalogue of your vinyl. Barcode scanner works with new pressings but not my old collection from 70s-80s. You'll have to manually enter the catalog number off the liner or album. I paid for premium version but that doesn't enable you to share your catalog with other app users. I believe sharing catalogs requires pro.

    Developer Response

Thanks for the feedback. It’s really appreciated! The app has options to share your Discogs collection by email, the most used text message apps and social networks, but it doesn’t have the option to share between Discogs users. This options are available for all users. A tip for old records: If they haven’t a barcode, you can use the built-in microphone to dictate the catalog number to the app. This way you avoid the hassle of typing a long and boring number on the search field.
  • Perfect after the update

Works great for updating my collection. So much easier with this app than with Discogs. I also really like that, unlike other apps that require a subscription, you just pay once for the full version. Kudos to the developer for immediately addressing the startup issue and for excellent communication. I highly recommend Discographic to anyone with a large music collection.

  • Great app but bugs galore

Crashes all the time, recently as of the last couple days it won’t even open. The screen comes up as it’s booting, then crashes and goes to the Home Screen. So I literally cannot even use the app right now. A shame
