  • Trip saver

I dont normally write reviews but this app has made such an impression on me that I have to. On a recent holiday to Iceland to see the lights I forgot one of my cameras and the other failed. I bought this app in desperation but the results are remarkably good. Very simple to use. I am not even sure what it does to my phone but I brought back acceptable images of auroras which saved memories of my trip.

  • Terrible

The worst app I’ve ever bought. Did not work at all. Avoid!
  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

After a trip to the Reykjavík lights in 2015 I was distraught when I arrived and could not capture them on an iPhone or digital camera. This time I did my research and found this app. It has honestly completed the whole trip for me. I only captured a few- but amazing photos due to being simply stunned by the lights, take a tripod and buy this app!!! - obviously don’t expect a family portrait in front of the lights, it will most likely be a silhouette but the lights themselves will be seen.

  • Doesn't work

I had high hopes but it doesnt work for the Northern Lights. It is just an all black picture.
  • Worked well for me !!

On a group trip to Iceland in February I was the only one who managed to capture a decent photo using, most of them had cameras or were just using their normal phone cameras, my photos were the only ones where the lights were clearly visible I ended up sending my shots to the rest of the group.
  • Great app!

Really pleased with this app, especially for 99p. My camera didn’t take any decent photos but this did the job really well. The NL appear just as a white glow but using this got the fab green colour. A tripod would’ve made the photos clearer as you have to try and hold your phone really still but great results anyway.

  • Didn’t work

I installed this app when I was in Iceland 2 weeks ago. We had two nights of amazing northern lights activity and I was anxious to take photos on my iPhone. I started Shooting and the camera just kept clicking, maybe 7 times each time I clicked the shutter. I thought this was normal and then found out it wasn’t. Anyway, all I got were several totally black photos. I never got one photo of the northern lights other than photos sent to me by traveling companions. I tried again the next night with the same results. The app did not work for me.

  • Doesn’t work!

I downloaded this app to take a picture of the northern lights. Safe to say didn’t work at all, I saw the most vibrant northern lights and all I got was pitch black pictures on my phone. Don’t waste your money!
  • $.99 out the window

This is pure junk. I bought it before an excursion in Iceland to see the Northern Lights. The lights were very strong, but this app mostly brought up a black screen. Once in a while I caught a glimpse of the lights with it, but then the screen went black again. I tried all the settings, but to no avail. And, yes, I gave it access to my camera after I first downloaded it. I just took shots from my iPhone 11, and they were spectacular.

This was recommended by an article about taking photos of the Northern Lights with smartphones, but I’m quite positive now that it was a paid endorsement. Save a buck and find another app.

  • Best 0.99 I’ve ever spent

I bought this for a trip to Norway since I don’t have a fancy camera and was just bringing my iPhone. It obviously does not look like a professional photograph but still did a great job capturing the lights so that I have a visual memory. I think it’s worth it!!
