Works well, but lacks a few features
Overall, the app works great, and I love the books I’ve listened too, but there are a couple features that it lacks that really bug me.
1) When I click the button on my headphones, other podcast or music apps will pause and then if I click again they resume. This feature does not work on this app for my iPhone 6. Seems like an easy feature to add which would be very very useful.
2) The lock screen controls in my iPhone done have a skip 30 seconds ahead or backwards button like the podcast apps do. If I want to jump back to re-listen to a portion, I need to unlock my phone and open the app. This also seems like an easy function to add, which would go a long way in the usability of the app.Show lessGecko desert
C+ (when grades meant something)
This is a good app but needs investment dollars to get it where it needs to be. There are issues with freezing, and it doesn’t play well with my car’s Bluetooth. For example, when I hit the 30 second (or whatever you have it set to) rewind it does not work with my car radio. However, a certain well known “audible” book player works flawlessly. Of course, being part of one of the richest companies on the planet helps in producing great apps, which brings me back to my original point: Christian Audio needs a cash injection to bring the player up to the level the company name deserves: the best! I am a monthly subscriber and, by the grace of God, intend to remain so. In my opinion Christians aught to support Christian companies, but Christian companies cannot and should not rest on their laurels. I am not suggesting this is the case with Christian Audio! Although, I have witnessed such attitudes in the past. God bless the owners as they strive to improve this worthy app.Show lessCarlMcK

What do you do when an app actually helps you achieve your goals? You write about it and spread the word. I’ve been using Christian Audio long before the app when there was just cd’s. Lots of cd’s. The switch to app based product enables me to access my library whenever I want. It also enables me to purchase books that I simply don’t have time to get through in paper form. I’m a therapist by trade so I need to get through more books than I have time for. You can imagine my relief when I discovered that not only can I listen to books on the go but I can speed them up. I fly through books on my way to work, at breaks at lunch, and then again when I have spare time. Sure I have the physical copy on my shelf that I use for reference, quotes and talks but the audiobook helps me to get through them. I love that I can sit in a sauna and be learning about addiction, marriage or theology. I also take advantage of the summer and winter sales to stock up.

Not worth the headache
This site has a great selection of books and regularly has sales and bargains to be bought, but thats all worth zip when the app doesn’t work. I’ve had grief with the app from day one! You download a selection of books for a long trip only to find that it’s deleted them, constantly pausing when mobile signal drops in and out, error warnings tell me I have insufficient storage when there is 120 gig free.

Good content but glitchy app
I really love the audio books available here, and I want to support this kind of website but I find the app is so glitchy. It’ll download the tracks and then undownload then somehow, and then sometimes skip or just freeze. Sometimes closing the app doesn’t even unfreeze it, I have to delete and redownload. 5 stars but still needs constant improvement
On the iPhone XR the app isn’t quite fitting around the notch. A few “done” buttons don’t work closer to the clock...aside from that, having your library in your pocket is great. Similar to audible however it’s all Christian focused books on offer. Seems strange to state the obvious but it does remove the ‘chaff’ when choosing books. Adding notes/bookmarks is good for going back to special parts of books too. Please keep updating!Show lessSplendidness
Could be so good
It promises the needed features, looks clean and is simple to use. However the app simply doesn’t work properly. So far I’ve not had any logout issues as others have had but it has to re-download the audio book before I can listen to it every time to go listen. Not had any bookmarks actually save yet, so I have given up trying to use that feature.
Please update the app so that books will download properly so I can just pick up where I left off easily. Thankfully I have a huge data allowance otherwise this app would have cost me.Show lessrtn review
