  • Very odd!

    Really!

    Developer Response

Hi simonemancuso, Thank you for rating Cubasis LE 2! As stated in the app's description, Cubasis LE runs in demo mode, unless unlocked via a supported hardware. Please let us have more details, what you feel or think is "very odd". Thanks again, Lars
  • A joke

Demo mode is useless for determining if the full product is right for you. I can only ask, why?

    Developer Response

Hi SpasticClam, Thank you for rating and reviewing Cubasis LE. As clearly stated in the app description, Cubasis LE runs in demo mode and unlocks a dedicated feature set, once a compatible hardware is connected. Best wishes, Lars
  • SAD, SAD, UNBELIEVABLE!!!

What a freakin' rip off. I was pretty excited to use this app but like others on here, why the hell bother when you have to find supported hardware. I chose this because I really want to use Auria Pro which I have but someone told me that Cubasis has an easier learning curve so now after this Cubasis disappointment, I’m just going back, gritting my teeth and learning, Auria. You guys are a complete rip off and I would give you 0 stars if I could. Why the hell would I want an app that only plays in DEMO MODE??? You people cannot be serious! It would have been great to use this app so I could see if I wanted to upgrade to full Cubasis but forget that now. Seriously. You should be ashamed of yourselves. There is no way I’m upgrading to the full version. This is crap. Highway robbery. Tsk, tsk.

I also have one more thing to add. Why do powerhouse DAWS such as, Auria Pro, BeatMaker 3, IMPC Pro, GarageBand, and others I’ve bought allow you to start working with them right away and not have to worry about searching for compatible hardware like you guys? Please explain this to me? It would be nice to use Cubasis LE 2 to give us a chance to work with it. To get a feel of what Cubasis is all about before spending the 50 bucks for the full version. This is not fair. You people intentionally do this so we can fork the money for the full version. What a shame.

Hi NimbusClouds, Thank you for your review and rating. In the App Store description we clearly point out, that the app runs in demo mode unless unlocked with a supported hardware. Please have a look at steinberg.net/cubasisle to check if you own a supported hardware device to unlock Cubasis LE's feature set. Additionally, the regular Cubasis version might offer what you're looking for. Best Lars
  • The DAW that hits the Sweet Spot!

I have, and use, several iOS music production platforms. I have to say that Cubasis is just about the perfect balance between something like GarageBand on the simple-but-limited side, and Auria Pro on the unlimited-but-complex side.

Cubasis is quick, fun to use, only limited in the most sophisticated final mixing and processing tasks. If you put together a track that is good enough to get to that stage, that's a good problem to have. Cubasis can get you there, and you will have fun doing it.

  • Cubasis is FOR REAL

While it’s no fun getting older, the prospective of growing up in the 80’s makes me really appreciate the tremendous technology available to musicians and songwriters today. Cassette four tracks were a blast of course, I learned a lot on them, but a DAW on slate no bigger than a magazine, with features on par with its desktop counterpart and now with Waves PlugIns?! Unreal, Cubasis is unreal.

I think users of the other iOS DAW’s need to add Cubasis to their arsenal as well. I love Auria Pro, but also use Cubasis; the ease of use and excellent on board instruments make MIDI composition & experimentation a breeze and serious mixing with acoustic instruments and audio is equally powerful. Steinberg’s partnership with Waves is a huge step in a journey Cubasis has been taking from a DAW people could doubt & dismiss (“Recording on an iPad?!”) to a DAW that is just as capable as it’s desktop brethren. Highly recommended.

  • Ridiculous

Ridiculous app that has NO support for the most common hardware on the market today by Yamaha and others.

    Developer Response

Hi Ridiculous, Thanks for rating our app. Actually, Cubasis LE supports a wide range of supported hardware from Steinberg, Yamaha, Line 6 alongside many devices from other manufacturers (https://www.steinberg.net/en/products/mobile_apps/cubasis_le/compatible_hardware.html). Please visit our forum to let us know, what hardware you'd like to see supported (www.steinberg.net/cubasisleforum). Thanks! Lars
  • Sad

I purchased the full version of Cubasis 2 through Cubasis LE. It did not show in Apps store that I purchased it. Besides I was expected to have a full version of Cubasis 2, it seems that a partial version instead of a complete full version of Cubasis 2. Please fix this app. Thank you

    Developer Response

Hi, Your purchase should appear in the in-app shop of Cubasis LE. The full feature set in-app purchase updates Cubasis LE to the same features of Cubasis - including future updates. If your problem persists, please file a bug report in our Cubasis LE forum in order to have the issue solved for you asap (www.steinberg.net/cubasisleforum). Thanks Lars
  • Disappointed :(

I purchased the full version from within the Cubasis LE app, but it does not show that I purchased it in the App Store. So, my review here is for the FULL VERSION.

I've used the desktop (pc) versions of Cubase for years and love it. Cubasis, in my opinion, doesn't come close to offering what the desktop versions have. Maybe it's great for some composers, as a way to work a song from start to finish. But, to me Cubasis really feels more like a really good 'scratch pad' that the developers are expecting you to actually work on your tunes on a full pc/mac version.

The really disappointing thing to me, is the lack of ability to do multiple time signatures/tempos in one song. Because of this simple lack of capability, this app is pretty much useless for what I wanted to use it for.

Rant over, it does do what it says it will do. I hope they implement other compositional abilities with future updates. :/

Hi, time signature/tempo track support is on our list for a future upgrade. Best wishes, Lars
  • Great app with first-rate MIDI support

Unlike other reviewers I've found this app to work well for me, including my oddball MIDI equipment. I've upgraded to the full version (no longer LE) and don't regret it for a minute. While it may be true that you don't get much/any assistance from Steinberg (the developer), I've gotten near-immediate responses on their forum. Recommended!

Hi, Thanks for the kind words! Until a few days ago it was not possible for app developers to comment on iTunes reviews (thanks to Apple having added this option now)! Additionally we're at hand both in the Cubasis and Cubasis LE forums which are monitored on a constant basis! Please find us at www.steinberg.net/cubasisforum and www.steinberg.net/cubasisleforum! Thanks Lars
  • Too crippled

Defaults to a 30 minute demo with no saving.
