  • More features please!!

I am a student that regularly uses Fusion 360 for school, it is a good application. However, I cannot do much on it when I use my iPad, only view projects.

I have the iPad Pro 2021 and no laptop. Upon downloading Fusion 360 on my iPad, I thought given how powerful my iPad was, I could use Fusion 360 “normally” on it. When I found that I couldn’t edit any projects, I was terribly let down. I can only use Fusion 360 at school on their old MacBooks. This holds me back from finishing my projects as quick as I want to. This issue will be greater next year once I work on bigger projects.

From reading other reviews, I am definitely not the only one experiencing problems with the lack of features. Please add more features!!!

  • The app makers it so handy.

Having the app to show your ideas to anyone any time is great.
  • Best Software Available!

I’m not an engineer, but I slowly am learning the design process through tutorials. I mainly work with fusion on my Mac, but the mobile app allows me to show customers a design even when I’m away from my office. The realistic renders shows the exactly what their product will look like and when it comes to machining the parts, its just a click of a button. I learned how to design my LED sign cabinet starting with a sketch. After converting the flat pattern file and upload the drawing details, I was able to send that to a machine shop with no questions or errors. I LOVE fusion 360!

  • Almost but not quite

This is good for viewing designs that you have done on the desktop but will only display things that were visible when last saved. If a feature is hidden, it will not display.

If a component has lots of bodies, not all are selectable from the list.
  • Good but basic

The ability to view designs on iOS devices is good however the ability to created and edit as well would be great!
  • Unrivaled CAD/CAM

I have used a handful of CAM software programs over the past two decades on a daily basis. Fusion 360 has room to grow but that is one of the things that makes it superior to other softwares, they are actively taking customer feedback and implementing improvements that are actually useful. Hands down the price is unbeatable for a powerful CAD/CAM software. There is no other program out there that has such a broad array of tools that all perform well. CAD, CAM, mechanical drawings, PCB design, analysis, generative design, 3D printing integration, cloud collaboration- Fusion 360 is all of this and so much more. Another great thing about Fusion is the vast amount of training available through Autodesk. It’s as if they actually want people to learn how to use this software. I rarely leave product reviews but this one is well deserved.

  • Template

I can’t even make a template on it
  • This does NOT let you 3D model. It is only a viewer

I don’t know why everyone is giving review of Fusion 360 desktop app here. This app DOES NOT let you do 3D modeling like real Fusion 360. If this app was titled “Fusion 360 Viewer” I would give 4 stars, but as “Fusion 360”, I would give only one star because it has no modeling features and it is just misleading. Plus, what is the difference between this app and A360? To me they are exactly the same.

For Fusion 360 desktop app, I would give five stars, and I am waiting for a day when this mobile app will truly be Fusion 360 and let you model on iPad.

  • Zero stars. Can’t load layers?!?

This app is idiotic. If you save your F360 desktop project with any of the layers turned off, then those layers are completely inaccessible from the mobile app. They don’t show in the layer tree, so there’s no way to turn them on or off. It’s as if they don’t exist at all. So unless you always remember to save your desktop projects with all of the layers turned on, you will never be able to see the full project in this mobile app. I can’t imagine how dumb someone has to be to design the app with such a glaring lapse in essential functionality.

  • Sharing and markup - ok, no editing. Why?

Although new to your product I would have to say I am a little disappointed. Why have such a great product in the desktop version and such a disappointment when trying to be creative on an iPad pro? Unfortunately this app is not maintained regularly so Autodesk may not be interested in supporting people. It’s not too much to expect to be able to make basic edits or changes. There are even inconsistencies in the markup function like when adding arrow annotations and text at the same time - these changes do not always update when posting on the iPad Pro. These errors are easy to reproduce so I don’t understand why they have not been fixed. Not able to recommend this product on the iPad Pro at this time, September 2021
