  • Great for what it is, but.........

This is great for showing people the 3D image.

The but is because I really want you guys to release an iPad design app. Shapr3D tries hard but it just doesn’t have that Autodesk feel to it.
  • Accessible and easy to use CAD and CAM

Autodesk offers this product at a free (hobbyist) level that is as functional as the real thing! Only in team management and expensive cloud computing or advanced features (which are an add on on any case) do you find limitations.

Product quality has occasional issues but the product as a whole is solid and I found solutions or work arounds on their forums.

Free Autodesk academy and affordable Coursera classes provide ample training to take you from tinkercad to autocad.

  • Like Solidworks but easier.

I was a big Solidworks fan, but have been won over by Fusion360. It’s much easier for students to get results fast and powerful enough for even the most demanding engineering design. Rendering is very impressive too. Plus the app is great for making notes and sharing ideas.
  • Bring full editing

This app is a great viewer for the stuff I make in Fusion360 on the Mac but it could be much more.

Given that Apple has declared the iPad Pro to be more powerful than 92% of the laptops on the market and frankly my Gen5 iPad Mini is not far behind I see no reason why Fusion360 couldn’t become a great editor on iPadOS.

In fact I feel iPadOS would be such a great platform for it when bundled with Apple Pencil.

I know there would be a lot of people who don’t agree but they’re deluded and stuck in the past. The ability to make changes to a drawing on the fly without the need to lug around a laptop would be invaluable and is certainly doable.

Incidentally if AutoDesk is doing this and needs beta testers then please look me up 😂

  • Fusion 360

F360 bring a comprehensive suite of CAD tools into the home or DIY domain. Supported by a wealth of video tutorials it is easy to solve issues and road blocks quickly. The community support has a positive “I can” attitude and a welcome feel.
  • Simple to powerful,

This product is very powerful if you dig into it, but simple and productive at the start. I’m looking forward to advancing into it, but for now have designed loads of designs that I have produced 3D printed products for various applications. It may take longer initially because of using the fundamental steps, but as I go along, I find either shortcuts or advanced/combined procedures. And? I haven’t even touched the more advanced capabilities either.

I was working with SolidWorks, but found the learning curve much easier with Fusion 360. There ate quite a bit of tutorials on the Internet for this that.

  • Perfect collaboration

This product has the interaction between modelling and collaboration spot on, other AutoDesk products could learn from it. So easy to design as a team, can be used both for manufacturing as well as conceptual development.
One request please add weld modelling and support weld call out tags in drawings.

  • Really great, good as free, ideas for more function

This is really awesome as a way to view my files, show them to other people, and share them somewhat.

Fusion 360 really is the most cost-effective 3-D modeling software on the market, and the fact they give it to hobbyists and start ups for free it’s amazing. Very good job that’s very good of them.

They’re making the world a better place.

I think that it would be really cool if this app enabled me to sketch from my phone, and even do some shape modeling from my phone.

I think if it was possible to directly download and email and store 3-D files through the phone, that would be neat. But maybe they don’t do it for security reasons?

  • Old dog, new tricks

After using numerous CAD packages through my like, I stumbled onto Fusion. After a very short learning startup, I find myself able to design, program and make just about anything I can image. From 3d printing to 4 axis machining, Fusion has made my ideas real.

Because the package is easy to learn but yet very capable, I am training my grandson through Titans of CNC, to become a machinist. At 13, he has been able to design, program and machine complicated parts without my help!

To Autodesk, thank you for the great product and your generous policies for student and their teachers

  • OMG, so smooth and handy to show off things!

I just discovered this is a thing! I have a huge model that brings my PC to its knees to work on, but navigating and showing it off to friends, family, and FB is such a seemless joy in this app!

Now, what would be cool is to select a part and “share as GLTF 2.0 (GLB) to FB” so it comes over as a rotatable object.

But seriously, this app is now used regularly at night on my phone as I think of changes I might do the next day to my designs.
