'A Critical Thinking Questioning Framework for Wordless Picture Books' is the third app that the Alan Peat Ltd team have produced, specifically to support reading (both in schools and at home) The app explores the importance of wordless picture books and includes a wealth of practical advice on how best to use these books with children. The four key sections preceding the framework are... Why are wordless picture books so important? How to conduct a first 'read' After the first 'read' Questioning Framework: Introduction This is then followed by the 9 sections of the Framework: Book handling questions and prompt Wide-angle questions and prompts Character questions and prompts Setting questions and prompts Close observation questions and prompts Plot questions and prompts Anticipatory questions and prompts Questions and prompts to encourage child narration Empathic Response questions and prompts Each section is made up of 15 key questions and also includes notes and tips for both teachers AND parents. The note-taking facility at the end of each section (as well as the ability to save notes) allows the app to become an ever-expanding resource. Another great addition to the Alan Peat Ltd app collection - a 'must have' app for both parents and teachers!
