About
AAC Standard helps people who cannot speak, or find speaking hard, to communicate: autistic children and adults, people with aphasia or motor disabilities, and anyone starting out with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). The app is set up by a parent, therapist or teacher.
TALK: COMMUNICATION BOARD
• Ready-made core vocabulary board: tap a tile, hear the word.
• Build a sentence from several symbols and play it with one tap.
• Topic boards: conversation, food, toilet, feelings, body and pain.
• An always-on row: yes, no, more, finished, help me.
• Edit boards behind a caregiver PIN: your own labels and symbols, hide tiles.
• Parts of speech coloured with the Fitzgerald key.
• "Download to phone": the board and folders work without internet, voice included.
SYMBOL LIBRARY
• Over 28,000 symbols in one consistent style, for younger and older users.
• The app in 52 languages.
• Female or male voice in English, Polish, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Czech, Slovak and Ukrainian.
• Search, categories, favourites and folders.
• Missing a symbol? Request it and we email you when it is ready.
ON AACSTANDARD.COM (same account)
• Symbol names in 52 languages.
• Printable card sets (A4 PDF), with new ones before holidays and special days, and a builder for your own sets.
• A printable AAC calendar with your own symbols.
• Live classroom: the teacher asks a question with symbols and students answer on their own tablets.
Speech, boards and the caregiver lock do not require a paid plan. Without an account the voice reads 10 different words a week; a free account removes that limit.
Your account (email, Google or Apple) keeps boards, folders and your own materials in sync across phone, tablet and aacstandard.com. Delete your account and data any time in Settings.
Statistics, crash reports, notifications and news emails only with your consent, separately for each. Change it any time in Settings.
