Ableton has transformed electronic music making, and the fact that this is super deep app that can produce music with in your pocket is insane. Thank you Ableton.
Absolutely amazing
This app is incredible and great when paired with a midi controller. Record vocals, guitar, synths and anything you can think of. In depth mixing is absent from note but that’s what a full daw is for. Ableton also added custom time signatures which has been an incredible feature.
I often find myself in beautiful places that inspire music that I need to write down. This app has provided that bridge.

Great App with discounts for Ableton Live
Not only is this a great app for creating tunes on the go but with the included Ableton Live Lite 12 you can get a discount for upgrades to their paid versions of Ableton Live.
Great App, almost perfect on the go. Journeys fly by. The only thing missing is the composure view. Not a deal breaker as you can import your tracks into the desktop application and compose there.

Best plugin ever
I use note as intended, for ideas on the go… but! It’s easy layout and great selection of sounds, plus the insane ability for expressing midi; makes this the greatest plugin ever. Sampling from this to Ableton is the closest thing to plug a cable to your mind. We need more adding like Drift 😩
Please add custom Time signatures
This app is incredible and great when paired with a midi controller. The only feature I’m missing is custom time signatures. Blows me away that it’s missing. Seems like a no brainer feature.
Incredible Software
This is a creativity firework. For me, it keeps me within boundaries, and randomizes instruments which induces a lot more variation, keeps things simple, and enables me to churn out solid, reliable, song ideas. And more, it’s fun and easy to use.
Feels half assed
There is no way to get an actual piano diagram, the time is very annoying to control, I feel like they were so close to making a super fun and useful tool to capture ideas they are just missing some things

This is the best app ever
Definitively. Hands-down. It is Ableton after a fashion, and it’s in my phone. Something about the way it’s set up is conducive to making fun music. And I can export not just samples, but basically project files into Ableton itself. I don’t even rate apps on the App Store; I’m rating this one. They update it more than is probably profitable for the company. I don’t know, maybe that’s not true… but it’s amazing nonetheless. I feel like I had to say something.

Need Piano Roll input!
I really need piano roll midi input method rather than realtime rec with pad or keyboard.
Constantly annoyed by additional paid download
I bought note years ago and they have slowly improved it over time. Until they added a new device, which they charge for: no problem, I just won’t use it. BUT IT IS CONSTANTLY ADDING IT TO MY SETS in a trial capacity, without the ability to adjust the sound. Please add a preference to not include devices I don’t own - even if you do there are already sets which are tainted.

Fight doomscrolling by making music!
I have personally benefited from Ableton Note being easy to jump into. I have made over 400 tracks (of varying quality) since the app first launched. It has helped me avoid social media when I am bored. I also bought the synth engine add-on and I haven’t come to regret either purchase. I like how limited it is. It’s a fun challenge to make a full track. I truly believe that you could make a full song, only moving into Ableton 12 for mixing and mastering. However, I haven’t done this more than one time. I just make stuff on my phone for fun. And fun it is!
Edit: They’ve also improved it with each and every update! This is a worthy investment.

Best on-the-go music app
This app is fantastic! As a blind musician, this app is one of the very few that is actually totally useable with VoiceOver. Hats off to Ableton for making this app accessible for us little guys. Extremely impressed. There are some very minor improvements that can be made to improve ease of use, like the macro labels being duplicated. Since the knobs themselves are labeled, I wish they would hide the text label, as it only adds an additional swipe to focus on the next knob. Nevertheless, this is a minor complain in an overall great app. Even the MIDI note editor is accessible, though not too useable, as it takes too long to use. Having a sequencer for the notes would be much faster, so first, touching the note you want to edit, then focusing on a step editor and moving through the note steps would be great.

The Innovative Solution
Very useful app for making a bank of found sounds on the go . It’s a very powerful tool / companion too Ableton Live Suite and because of its usability and simplistic nature it’s always available in your hand . I started on this on the week of its release and have seen it grow and change into what we have now . Pro :The cloud is great and uploading too it is very easy. Con : there is some hidden changes too the important aspects of Simpler as it doesn’t load in the same format. Pro: it has the ability to capture audio straight into each drum rack pad with some rudimentary edit and manipulation functionality. Con: as of yet there is no 32but float function which can make it challenging too monitor and record in real time .Pro: there’s a grid with quantise and nudge functions etc . Con : it’s a bit fiddly to get into could do with a latch /gate function on a single button for quick editing so you can monitor the other sounds and output while making changes. Pro : there’s a mixer that utilises touch strips and allows for gain structure. Con. It’s a challenge too see the level of multi touch fader movements on smaller phones while editing. I rate this app a solid 8/10 . For where it’s currently at with a few more granular and spectral functions and some au integration it will be a great daw on your phone . Well done and Thank you . Too everyone at Ableton excited and inspired for what you do next 🙏👏

7/27/26: wow! Beta version allows for landscape mode; a must fir implementing. As is the MIDI bouncing.
Im a huge mobile music studio user and I gotta say that I love what Ableton has done with Note. They’re definitely carving out their own niche in the game.

Best version ever! The scrolling instrument menu at the top of the current instrument allows users to choose established tracks without having to back out of the presented instrument view…big time saver.

Decent but needs major fixes
Had a good time learning how to use this. Not the smoothest tool, but it helps get ideas down. Built a pretty good track but all of my progress was lost the next I opened the app. Very unfortunate. Maybe it needs a save function.

not even compatible with voice memos?????? ITS AN IOS APP WHAT ARE YOU DOING. so many missing midi features that it's honestly getting unusable at this point. it's been two years and there's been no substantial updates. Come on.
