More pieces, please
Great idea, but only a small number of pieces available for each grade, which is disappointing and not very helpful. I don’t want my kids using YouTube to find accompaniments, which might not even be accurate to begin with… so, please can you add the full list of accompaniments for each grade? A sung version would be very welcome too, but all the accompaniments be a great start. Thank you!

Frustrating
Downloaded the app but now it would only allow me pay for 1 song. No way of contacting the team for help either. Tried the contact us on the app but won’t let me submit my query

Doesn’t Cover Syllabus Songs
In principle this app was exactly what I was looking for - just one catch - only 12 songs can be purchased for Grade 2 and these were none of the songs I needed. Why? I have no idea. It’s shocking that ABRSM provides no access to actual “Audio” material for an audio based art form - instead leaning on material in “symbolic” ie. word and sheet music form. Very poor accessibility !
Is it too much to ask for a sound track of someone singing a syllabus piece ? Feels like teaching 191 has been skipped here.

Not free at all!
Thought the music accompaniment would be free when you buy the book like Rock School, but no! Very poor show. As a parent we will stick to music recorded in the online music lesson in future. For the cost of the songbook plus you could surely be providing some free online recordings accessed by password etc. I expect much better from you!

kicks me off
I am on IOS 13.6 and it kicks me off every time I go to get more pieces. a shame, I think the idea is great. also does not work on ios 14.0.1 on my daughters phone.
Continually crashes
The app downloaded fine but then crashes the second I try to select a song. Ridiculous.

Unable to download any more music since icon upgrade. No response to emails. Disappointed

First of all the app doesn’t work on my Apple device. I was expecting the backing tracks to come with the book purchase as many other grade organisations provide the tracks when you purchase the book. However, this is not the case with ABRSM. You are expected to purchase the book then make a further purchase for the backing track in order to rehearse and finally a fee for your grade entry. As someone who puts children and young adults through their grades each year I feel it is a lot to ask from the parents of the children I teach and will consider changing grade organisations.

Looks like a glitch
Our signing teacher recommend this app.I download it but can’t use it. When I try to get more pieces it kicks me off, when I trying change grade it kick me off program.So all I can use one song grade 3.Hopefully it’s can be sorted I need this app!🙈

A bit disappointed
I’m a bit disappointed with this as I was expecting to be able to get any song that is on the syllabus. Unfortunately, for Grade 3, this doesn’t list all the songs that my daughter is covering for her exam! A shame as the other 2 songs are great for practice.

As stated in the store description, It is currently possible to purchase all accompaniments from the ABRSM Songbook Plus series. These accompaniments match the exam requirements as described in the ABRSM Songbook Plus books. Where appropriate, cuts or edits have been made to the pieces to achieve this.
Rubbish!
You have to pay for every song and my iPad doesn’t do in app purchases.
It is so unfair that the app is free but then everything else you have to pay for. If I could I would give it no stars.
Also I have my exam coming up and I need to practice with music but I can’t. You should defiantly try and make this better or at least make the music less money. I mean, £10! I know that doesn’t sound like too much but you do 3 songs and there is 8 exams. If you paid for all of that it would be £240! This app is rubbish and I will be deleting it!😡

Hello ellacorn, Thank you for your comment. Within the app, it is possible to purchase the piano accompaniment track for individual pieces for £1.99 each or you can purchase an entire grade (a bundle of 12-14 pieces) for £8.99 per grade. The app caters for grades 1-5. So, if you were to purchase 3 individual pieces at each grade this would come to a total of 3x1.99x5 = £29.85; or if you decided to purchase all available material for all grades this would come to a total of 5x8.99 = £44.95. Limited music
I rarely use any of the songbook plus songs with my students and these are the only ones on this app. Recordings of the piano parts for the entire syllabus would be better! Or even the songbooks (non-plus).

Produce full backing!
Agree with another user. You must produce backing that matches the songs in the book not just one verse! Surely can’t be that hard to do?
