Rudimentary. Needs improvement.
This app has a good framework. But it lacks ease of use and can actually be confusing. While trying to “plan a trip”, the only thing I can do is choose the departure city and the arrival city. Not the actual day I want this trip to be on, not the time I may want to leave or arrive by. It’s quite difficult to actually plan a trip accordingly with what little information this app provides. In comparison to ‘ACE Rail’ the South Korean train app ‘KakaoMetro’ provides options of departure location, arrival location, date of trip, desired departure time, desired arrival time, and will alert you of when you are a few stops away from your destination. ‘ACE Rail’ has a good foundation but needs a lot more work put into it.

Issues on the purchase option
Customer service in the ticketing office and over the phone are very nice. But the app doesn’t work like suppose to be when I am trying to purchase tickets with my commute benefits card. It has a error message on security code sdk 111, connection-try again (did on wifis and mobile data and doesn’t work) I ended buying paper tickets with same card and everything works perfect on their office machine. Needs some work on the app development I guess.

Love the APP. Easy to navigate. I was able to purchase my ticket which includes an activating component when you’re ready to use your ticket making my ACE Rail trip from Stockton to Livermore stress-free.easy to

Could be good... but has ALOT of kinks. Monthly ticket purchase is not an option when I download.
Terrible Update
After the last major update they removed the function for train ETAs within the schedule. Now there is a broken link that goes to the ACE train website for an update.
This app has become pretty much useless when compared to the website.
Although they also removed the train ETAs from the schedule on the website too. Seems like a very poor design choice on their end.
Overall this was the one function I used daily on the app. Now it’s fairly useless for me.

Simple to use and works well.
Not a good deal
App 20 times ticket will expire in 90 days while paper ticket does not. If phone battery dies, they will cite you. Good luck!

Nice to see ACE join the 21st Century
While I'm not a fan of the paper tickets for their lack of security, I'm not 100% sold on getting out my phone every trip either. Still, the app looks solid and I'll give it a shot
