User reviews

Old app way better

Very hard to set up! Different reading on phone than home device. No one to call you have to chat which sucks!

You Suck

Pretty simple, AcuRite your app sucks!!

App won’t update sensors;UDATE WONT WORK AT ALL

Haven’t had a sensor data update since the changeover to this new app . Can’t find any way for tech support. HELP

UPDATE: went back to old app and got that working.old app has now quit so had to try new app again, now it can’t even find my hub or sensors.

Lagging behind.

Weather station works great. The temp, wind speed, rainfall all work and update great. But the barometric pressure seems to be stuck on one reading and the latest connection is behind real time by 1 hr. Company says they are aware of the issue but doesn’t seem to be fixing it.

Unreal Downgrade

First App Store review I’ve left since the release of the iPhone - that’s how annoyed I am.

I genuinely don’t understand how AcuRite managed to take such an enormous step backwards. My AcuRite wasn’t perfect, but it was vastly superior to AcuRite NOW in virtually every way that matters. The old app was functional, information-dense, intuitive, and actually felt like software designed for people who own weather stations.

AcuRite NOW feels like someone took a proper weather dashboard and crammed it into a tiny widget. Instead of opening the app and getting full-sized graphs, detailed historical data, and useful weather information at a glance, everything has been shrunk down into these little tiles that waste most of the screen. The GUI has that generic, AI-generated smart-home aesthetic: lots of empty space, little bubbles and widgets, and dramatically less useful information actually visible. It somehow manages to look more “modern” while being substantially worse at displaying weather data.

Even more baffling, I can’t even change the units to metric. I live in Canada. This is a WEATHER APP. Being able to use Celsius, km/h and millimetres isn’t some obscure enthusiast feature; it is absolutely basic functionality.

I honestly can’t remember ever seeing an app take such a massive step backwards in both form and function. My AcuRite already worked. AcuRite should have modernized it, improved the graphs and built upon what customers already liked. Instead, they replaced a genuinely useful weather dashboard with what feels like a generic smart-home control panel that displays your weather station as an afterthought.

AcuRite, your customers bought WEATHER STATIONS. We want graphs, trends, history and detailed weather data, not a tiny weather widget floating around inside a generic IoT app.

My AcuRite set the benchmark you needed to improve upon. AcuRite NOW doesn’t even come close to matching it.

An astonishing downgrade. 1/5.
