Would be better

Would be a good app if I could log into the damn thing email and password are both correct but the app says invalid

not responding

after clicking buy tickets

wth

I can’t uninstall this app to log back in

bad

error so many times

Useless with scanners

Sometimes the ticket scanners refuse to read my digital concession 28 day pass, leaving me to use my debit card..

genuinely terrible

two authentications to log in, have to restart the app every time you open it because it loads indefinitely on the first pass, need to buy and activate ticket before getting on the bus because it takes a minute for the validated ticket to even work on the scanner

Ms

There are times when I cant access the app because of a device error, leaving me with no choice but to use my debit card and pay again even though I have an active monthly subscription.

Piece of junk

I rely on this slop every day. After 2 years all the bugs should be ironed out, but no. Once I updated the app and all my tickets disappeared. Luckily I didn’t buy too many. And now its just randomly not letting me log in, just spinning endlessly, even after reinstalling and restarting my phone. I can’t even reset my password. Its just hanging with no error code or anything. What a joke

Should allow to integrate with my already existing metro card

Overall I’m glad to see Adelaide is moving in the correct direction.

I was hoping this app would allow me to see and use my already existing metro card and just top it up like you can via the website and then use my phone to get one the train. But no - which is a real shame. Don’t need this app as I still have my metro card.

Apple Wallet?

Great app overall, but one feature that would really elevate it is Apple Wallet integration. Being able to store my MetroCard directly in Wallet for quick, one-tap access would be a game changer — especially when you’re rushing for a bus or train.
This isn’t a new concept either. Apps like Opal (Sydney), myki (Melbourne), and even international transit apps like Transport for London and Clipper (San Francisco) have all nailed Wallet integration. Adelaide Metro shouldn’t be far behind.

Just use a metro card atp

I wanted to use this so I don’t have to bring a wallet with me but I’ve found the app consistently breaks either singing me out when trying to scan the horrible QR code design or it not scanning looking like a nob whilst everyone else is behind me waiting to get on

Please add password support or at least copy and paste!

Love that the app makes buying tickets easy. I don’t love typing in a complex password without copy and paste. Can you please integrate with phone password system??

Also my wife has had to enter her payment details twice on the same day. Seems like a bug.

Poor user experience

Doesn’t accept modern email suffixes such as ‘.consulting’ so was unable to register with my work email address. ‘Enable biometric’ is grayed out in main menu but appears in password menu and works there. Adding Apple Pay doesn’t work. It all feels badly put together and hasn’t had a proper UAT.

Ridiculous Password Requirements

The password requirements are absolutely ridiculous and only serve to reduce security. It has long been proven that password LENGTH and not complexity provide better security than obscure requirements. Developers: search “XKCD password complexity”; your password requirements are hard for humans to remember and easy for computers to guess. Consider using a password complexity library such as “zxcvbn”. All the current password requirements tell us is that whoever wrote the bizarre requirements has absolutely zero clue about information security. I’d even hazard a bet that the requirement was copy-pasted from some outdated system requirements document which is 20 years outdated.

To fix it, remove ridiculous complexity requirements and use a modern library (like zxcvbn) to calculate compute complexity (ie how long it takes a machine to brute force the password). Make the various forms work seamlessly with password managers and built-in device password generators. These will generate far more secure passwords than a human trying to manually satisfy some BA’s ignorant perception of password complexity requirements. Grrrr.

Also seems like I can’t use aliases on my email address (I’m guessing, can’t sign up, no reason why). This thing is 20 years outdated already.

Trying again several years later: still unable to paste a password in. I don’t know what my password is, I just copy+paste from a password manager. It’s a complicated password which I’m not going to type out by hand. So I can’t even log in. Still. After how many years??

Logging In

Takes forever to let me log into my account

Lacking features

Would be great to have a metro time table and a feature to plan your route built into the app

Poor functioning app

Please reference the ways NSW and VIC done with their apps.

Terrible

Hands down the worst app I’ve ever used! This app is fundamentally unfit for purpose. Accessing the QR code requires multiple taps, even when using shortcuts, and the app frequently logs users out or crashes without warning - often at the most inconvenient times.

Most concerning is that the QR code does not reliably scan on some buses, rendering a paid ticket unusable. A ticketing app that cannot consistently present a valid, scannable ticket fails at its most basic function.

I will not use this app again once my current pass expires unless substantial improvements are made.

Terrible

This is one of the worst apps I have been forced to use - I say forced since I purchased a 28-day pass thinking it would also link to my Metro card. I have to click at least 3 times to access the QR code, sometimes 4 (even with a shortcut), the app logs you out at random intervals, or completely shuts down (usually at the most inconvenient of times too, of course - Murphy’s Law!) I will not use this app again once my current pass expires, unless it undergoes some serious upgrades.

Poorly designed app = Bad user experience

I didn’t have a great experience buying metro tickets with Adelaide Metro and their customer service team avoided taking ownership of such experience.
