Afforestation is an individual-developed location-based game (LBS) that combines players' real daily activities with virtual tree planting. Players can plant trees in every place they go, expanding their virtual territory and gaining experience as they explore new locations.
You can plant trees in real-world locations you visit. Each 20m*20m square is a territory unit where only one tree can be planted. By traveling to different places, you expand your territory. The game allows for land grabbing if a spot is already occupied.
Players gain experience by planting trees, and new tree species are unlocked as you level up. For example, Camphor is available at Level 1, Ginkgo at Level 10, and Red Maple at Level 20, with each offering different experience points and seed regeneration rates.
Players have six capabilities: Sense, Harvest, Attack, Defense, Energy, and Recovery. These can be improved by leveling up. For instance, increasing 'Sense' provides more game information, while 'Attack' allows you to cut down trees with lower armor.
The application is free to download and play, but it does include in-app purchases and advertisements. Players can enhance their experience through these optional purchases and by engaging with ads.
