About

Freelance income arrives in lumps. Your pay shouldn't. Afloat pays you a steady amount you set from every deposit, and shows how many months you're covered. No employer withholds your taxes here. Nobody smooths a $12k month into a $2k one, and nobody nudges you to save. That's the job you got handed the day you went out on your own, and it's the thing that wakes you at 3am. Afloat does it in the background. HOW IT WORKS 1. Log income as it lands. One tap per deposit, no bank login, and Afloat splits each one for you: a slice to tax, some to savings, the rest is yours to spend. 2. Pay yourself a steady amount from that buffer, on a schedule you set. Good month or lean one, your take-home holds. 3. Stay afloat. One glance shows how many months you're covered, which is how long your money would last if the work stopped today. WHAT YOU GET - One number, not a spreadsheet. How many months you're covered is the whole app. - Tax set aside on every deposit, grouped by filing period, so a bill you already knew about stops wrecking the month. Afloat sets the money aside. It doesn't calculate or file anything. - An optional savings slice, kept apart from the money you spend. - Home screen and Lock Screen widgets that keep the number in view. - A clean activity log where every balance traces back to a real deposit you logged. Nothing is a mystery. - Try a scenario to see how a strong month or a dry spell would play out, before it happens, without touching your real data. NOT ANOTHER BUDGETING APP Budgeting apps help you divide up money you already have. Afloat solves the harder problem freelancers hit first: making that money show up steadily in the first place. No expense categories, no receipts to photograph. Pair it with a budget, or let it be the only money app you open all week. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No bank login. Your money stays on your device, and you can lock it behind Face ID. If you want it on your other devices too, sync runs through your own iCloud, encrypted by Apple. Nothing gets collected, and there's no one to sell it to. BUILT FOR Freelancers, contractors, virtual assistants, and creators. Anyone whose income is self-employed and never quite the same twice. Try Afloat free for 7 days. You'll see how many months you're covered in your first session, then decide if it's worth keeping. That's how you turn lumpy income into pay you can count on. SUBSCRIPTION AND TERMS Afloat Pro is an auto-renewable subscription: $3.99 per month or $24.99 per year, and it starts with a 7-day free trial. A one-time lifetime unlock is also available for $69.99. Prices are in US dollars and vary by region. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when the free trial ends. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings. What's New in Afloat

1.1

July 28, 2026

Afloat 1.1 is about seeing your money's rhythm. New: - Your widgets now carry the color of your coverage, so one glance at your home screen tells you how you're doing. - Income shows your typical deposit and the usual gap between deposits, once it has seen a few. - When things get tight, Afloat offers to pause your savings split so more of each deposit refills your buffer. Resume in one tap when you're back in the green. - Plan your next draw in both directions. Take less to stretch your buffer, or more when it's covered. - Add a note to any transaction and edit it later. Client tags now show in your activity feed. - Type an amount directly when editing a transaction instead of stepping to it. Fixed: - The coverage color could stay blue after your ramp-up. It now always reflects your real months covered. - A payday reminder could still fire after you had already paid yourself. It waits for the next one now. - Income you expect months from now no longer reads as overdue.
