Checkparty has been the most no-frills, intuitive, and simple way I’ve found for splitting bill costs with friends. It’s incredibly easy to use. I had an issue a couple months ago finding a tax/tip option (swapping between percentage and exact amount) and messaged the developer, and they were super kind and seemed really passionate about this. Just what is was looking for!
There may be other apps out there that help you split the bills, but I absolutely love this one! I love that you can send each person a breakdown of their portion of the bill and you can send a complete summary of the bill to the actual person paying it so that they know who and how much is owed to them! I had a couple of questions for the developer of this app so I emailed. Within 24 hours, I received an email back and an update to the app! I also had a question that I was sure was my own “user error” and the developer emailed me back with complete instructions on how to do something! I paid for the full version so that I can take a photo of the receipt and let me say it was well worth it. You can use the free version as well, but you will just have to input items from the bill by hand. All in all, I am completely happy with this purchase so if you are on the fence about it, I say go for it! And it is only a one time fee, they don’t make you pay monthly for it!

Terrible app
This app is not what I thought and I’m very unhappy.
Looks like a cool app, maybe even awesome
But there’s really no way to even try this thing out without paying full price for it? I’m fine paying for a high quality app, just let me figure out if it even works well.

Hey - 90% of the app is free and lots of people just use the free features. We think the premium features are worth it and don’t really break the bank for a 1-time purchase. We’d rather not switch to a subscription to offer a free trial for a utility app. Thanks for the feedback.
