Sorry to hear that you had issues with the app. That shouldn’t happen. If you could email me the image you tried to translate so I can debug the issue, it would be greatly appreciated! You can send it to contact@whatitsay.app. Thanks for giving the app a shot. - Chris
Great app, but sharing could be improved
Response from developer
Thanks for the review! That is a really good point about the sharing image. I will add this request to my todo list. If you have some time, could you send me an example of the issue? You can send it to contact@whatitsay.app. Thanks again! -Chris
Surprisingly better than Apple Translate & Google
This app has Cantonese translation built in from Apple translate into the app. Translations from DeepL makes more sense as it’s more
conversational like. No more gibberish translations and trying to decipher what is written.
It’s amazing how a dev can simply make someone else’s life much easier.

Works
Snap a photo or access your images and the app will translate all text on top of the original language.
I successfully used it to translate a game that advertised that it was in English and Japanese. It was only Japanese. I was able to play and understand by snapping images and translating them to English.
Response from developer
Thanks so much for the review! Glad to hear you were able to play the Japanese language game using the app. Really cool! -Chris

Not for me
Response from developer
Hi, thanks for your review. You do need to snap a photo first rather than hovering as I find it hard sometimes to keep my arm still when trying to translate while holding my position while using other apps. I would rather snap a photo first. This is why I built the app. If you would rather translate without taking a photo, then this app is probably not for you. If the app is not translating Spanish into your target language, make sure that the language choice in the top right (your target language) is the language you want to translate into. The app will recognize the source language automatically from the image. I apologize for the jumbled translation. That shouldn’t happen. If you email me at contact@whatitsay.app I can help debug this issue. Thanks again for your feedback. -Chris

RESPONSE TO THE DEVELOPER: No it openly states Lifetime Subscription. Not all these ppl r making the same mistake c’mon man. no need to work anything out i cancelled my subscription, in time thank goodness
Response from developer
Updated response: All these people are making the same mistake because I designed this part of the app poorly. I didn’t make the free lifetime offer clear enough (it is the green button below the “Continue” button). That is 100% my fault. I am a solo developer and I need good reviews and feedback, why would I purposely do a bait and switch? If you are still interested in the lifetime subscription, you can email me at contact@whatitsay.app - Chris Original response: Hi, thanks for your review. It sounds like you accidentally chose the annual plan, which has a free trial, rather than the Lifetime Access plan (the green button under the annual plan button). If you email me I can help you sort this out contact@whatitsay.app -Chris
Feels like cheated
Response from developer
I am sorry for the confusion. Not sure what happened, the offer was live until the end of the day on November 19th. If you email me at contact@whatitsay.app I can help sort it out for you. -Chris
Why isn’t the app subscription showing up as Premium lifetime updated? Is it a catch & switch?
Just downloaded the app. Followed instructions, onboarding & selected lifetime $0 as advertised & promotion. However nothing in the app confirms it’s now premium.
I deleted & reinstalled the app. Went to app settings. Still no premium update. Tried subscription & restore . Nope 👎 not confirmed or lifetime premium free subscription.
Checked Apple purchase history.
100% NOT LIFETIME $00 PREMIUM Subscription hence either an oversight error by your company or an intentional fault advertising. Disappointed either way.
