It still doesn't function, even after I attempted to restart my phone.
Beware of the 7-Day Free Trial
I downloaded AI Video Generator after clicking through from an Instagram link because I liked the look of the phone screensavers you could create.
When I downloaded the app, it clearly offered a 7-day free trial, followed by a monthly charge of £14.99. I selected the free trial and created a screensaver. As I wasn’t planning to keep the app, I deleted it afterwards so I wouldn’t forget and accidentally get charged once the trial ended.
However, not long after downloading the app, I was charged £11.99.
I requested a refund through Apple, but this was rejected. I appealed the decision and was rejected again.
I then contacted the app company directly. They claimed that they don’t offer free trials and that what I had seen was actually a discounted subscription. I asked my partner to download the app and sent the company a screenshot showing the button clearly saying “Start your free trial.” Despite this, they continued to claim that they don’t offer free trials and said they could issue a refund.
The app itself was decent enough, but in my opinion it wasn’t anything better than other AI image/video generator apps available.
Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this app. If you see the app advertised with what appears to be a 7-day free trial, I’d think twice before signing up. In my experience, I ended up being charged before the trial period had even passed, and getting a refund has been far more difficult than it should have been
