So far so good…

Does what they say it will do, with no issues found as yet. Would be better though if you can change the settings of the remote camera from the viewer. Better use of the inbuilt iPhone camera would be an advantage especially in low light situations. What is shown as very dark in the app is quite well lit in the iPhone camera app.
After using this app for a few months, it is very buggy. It only captures footage when the camera is the active page in the app, but it keeps leaving this page because of IOS activity and a very annoying pop up asking you to rate the app. The only way around this I have found is to use automation to open the camera page at regular times during the day to ensure the camera is functioning. Also some files saved to the cloud become corrupted and you can not view them. The files are deleted from the phone and corrupted on the cloud. Would be a great idea to allow access to the files from within the files app in iOS, but you can only access them through the app itself.
The other annoying thing is that the feedback form in the app does not work. When you send a message to the developers to give them feedback it comes up with an error sending the message. Hence why I have given a lengthy review here. All in all a promising app that needs to become more active with bug fixes and performance improvements.
V3.37 has serious bugs. Sound is no longer recorded with the video. If you switch between cameras, then the video stops recording all together and an app restart is required. Turning off monitoring has no effect if the camera is opened.

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to write all of that out β€” it is the most useful report I have had on this app, and most of version 3.40 came directly out of it. Fixed in 3.40, which is rolling out now: - No sound in recordings. A change in 3.37 handed the audio session to the live-streaming code and never took it back, so recordings were silent β€” and noise detection was silently disabled with it. Both work again, and the recording indicator now shows a badge when audio genuinely is not available. - Switching cameras stopped recording. The lens switch tore the capture session down mid-recording and left the recorder stuck, so every later event had no video. It is now a clean event boundary with a timeout β€” no app restart needed. - Turning monitoring off had no effect while the camera screen was open. On iOS 26 the iCloud sync that carried the toggle can stall while the camera is running. The toggle is now also sent straight to your camera devices as a push, so it applies immediately. - Corrupted files / question marks. The background cleanup was deleting media records that had not finished syncing yet, and that deletion synced to every device. It no longer does, and recording now stops before the disk fills instead of piling up empty events. - The rating popup. It now only appears after a real success moment, at most once per version, and either answer settles it for that version. Not done, and I would rather say so than pretend: opening recordings through the iOS Files app, changing camera settings from the viewer, and low-light tuning are all on the list but not built yet. The feedback form was genuinely broken β€” it was erroring on send rather than reaching me, which explains the silence. That is fixed now β€” the in-app link works again, and it is the same form at https://www.anh-app.com/contact/. Thanks for sticking with the app long enough to write this.

Hi, iPad air wifi 2019 in landscape mode - recording is ok, but preview on ipad screen is rotated and cut. ipad rotation is NOT locked. see image imgur com / a / FOoLAcO

Response from developer

You are right that this went unanswered for far too long, and I am sorry. The cause was real: the app was reading the interface orientation rather than the device's physical orientation, which is why the recording came out fine while the on-screen preview was rotated and cropped. Version 3.40 reworks that β€” physical orientation now wins β€” and it is rolling out now. If the preview is still wrong on your iPad Air after updating, please send me a screenshot through https://www.anh-app.com/contact/ and I will chase it on that specific device.

Almost Perfect

My only complaint with AiCam is I wish there was a live audio video when viewing a device. We often use a craft cover with our dog, and often times we rely entirely on audio cues rather than visual.

Response from developer

Good news, and sorry it took a while: live audio while viewing is in. When you open a device you now hear what the camera hears, which should cover exactly the case you describe with the crate cover. Version 3.40 is rolling out now and also fixes recorded audio, which had regressed in an earlier build. Thanks for the clear feature request β€” it is the reason the audio work got prioritised.

Simple and useful

What a great little app! Simple, free or upgrade, does what it claims to do.

Response from developer

Thank you β€” simple is the whole point, and it is surprisingly easy to lose. Glad it holds up.
