An excellent app the only one I use.
I have been a tasker for a while now A very well designed app with a good system I’ve tried the “lead generation apps” they are absolutely awful!! Just out to make money from hard working people but airtasker are great if you have an issue with anything they are very helpful through email as well.

My $100 - $20 (Airtasker service fee) never paid
I completed a task & haven’t been paid a week later? 7 full days have went by? I was initially told that extra payment options had to be verified via Stripe. However each time I tried to submit the extra verifications the app options malfunctioned. Each time I reach out to support I never get a response?!. Then earlier in the week I accepted a different task from a guy. Only to be told that I went against the guidelines when I told him I was never paid for my first & only task. Therefore I would like to do the task aside from the app until my page was fixed. This dude left me a bad review when I never even did work for him. To go along with Airtasker telling me I owed $49.95 for a cancellation fee? When I never even was assigned the job! This app is a con & I want my $80 (which I received a 5star review for) deposited into my bank acct. #smh

Rohit accepted task for $70 but also demands extra $100 outside of Airtasker & won’t let me cancel task. Task not done, Airtasker keeps my money regardless

Edit: Airtasker has responded to my review but not actually helped at all. Even going to their link there’s no way to actually provide feedback generally to Airtasker, so I will air the dirty laundry here. The rating system is useless. I think it’s because of an implied menace where the tasker knows your name, address (because the majority of tasking is based around the home) and how you rated them. If you choose to not pay them the escrowed amount, you’ll have an annoyed tasker at your door asking you to please release the money. There aren’t anonymous reviews and there is no way to provide feedback that isn’t a public rating. As usual, incompetent people flourish and the system rewards/protects them. Airtasker is incentivised to have inflated ratings because it looks like taskers are competent and productive. But Airtasker avoids implementing proper rating mechanisms or even accepting feedback in an easy way, because it would hurt their bottom line.

Enticed by the adverts of getting things done, I tried Airtasker and have been disappointed every time. Things may get done - but they’ll be done badly and at a price you wouldn’t have paid.
The app doesn’t connect you with quality workers, it connects you with random people who need money and have no regard for their ability to actually do the work. There is little recourse if the work is done poorly, and costs associated with backing out if the tasker demonstrates they can’t do the task after saying they could.
Airtasker makes no effort to filter taskers for quality or ability other than an internal rating mechanism that seems so thoroughly gamed as to be useless.
Fees are extremely high at around an additional 20% of what is paid to the tasker.

Great idea in theory, terrible experience, even worse customer service
I really liked the idea of air tasker but we had a bad experience where we felt very unsafe in our house. The Airtasker tradesperson arrived with someone else which we wasn’t expecting and we had 2 young children in the house at the time. They did a poor job but we approved it after feeling.l pressured to approve it. We immediately contacted Airtasker customer care after the incident but they said because we approved the job, we could t get a refund despite the unsafe environment we were u see. I will never use Airtasker again, and would recommend others don’t also.

It’s a great app and idea but the fees are way too much every single job regardless weather it’s £10 or £1000 your getting close to 30% taken off and plus the one wanted the task done also getting charged. It’s crazy
Asking questions who with I could get work with and some payments
There has been a few times now where I was trying to line up jobs, and Airtasker has said I have been monitored as I was trying to give personal details for a job was lined up, I know for sure at no time I was giving out personal information for a job was confirmed. Also with payments if payment was requested before midday I would get paid that afternoon or next day, if I complete a job in the afternoon I would get paid two days later, this does not make sense, if I complete a job in the afternoon I should get paid for it the next day at the latest.
