Extortionate fees
Here’s how an app with good potential is failing due to the greed of its “owners”. Taking close to 30% from any an every jobs in fees is ridiculous to then find out form comments that whoever wants a task done also gets charged. And you read thet right. If for example someone is wiling to pay £1000 for a job, £300 ish out of that job is going to Airtasker. That’s absolutely crazy. Then the individual listing get flooded with people adding their photo numbers to photos or trying any way to go directly to the person wanting the work done. If you were charge a reasonable amount everything would be to your advantage but hey, what do I know…

Needs polishing
Has potential, It would be nice to add a feature for service providers so people can search for providers also 18% -20% on jobs is a bit steep specially when you have to consider Gas, supplies and time
Better vetting for orders, many people post jobs with little info and it looks like people are using the app to post non-job posts.
People never answer, also the public responses seems a bit un professional im gonna lay off this app till it gets better

Not user friendly
After not being able to create an account trying with 2 different accounts, now I’m having to enquire to get a refund. There doesn’t seem to be any kind of auto re-issuing but they’re happy to take your money with no questions

App just closes randomly and remains very unstable regardless of how many times I’ve reported it. Even deleted and reinstalled and got the same poor performance Shame really, great service, dodgey IT.

BEWARE! Poor workmanship and even worse customer service
Avoid this app at all costs. The company is in Australia and they have no phone number and bury the customer service in poor chat bots and emails that take days. The person i used on this app had exemplary ratings but destroyed my car and did a bad job. He dodged all communication and demanded more money afterwards for work he did not finish. Airtasker makes it impossible to get in touch with them, and by the time you do they will make sure not to help you in any way. They will blame the tasked and claim to help you talk to them but then they don’t actually, and there is no human to talk to. They put misleading information about insurance and liability stuff on their website but they don’t offer any liability or help if anything goes wrong and they have 0 interest in refunding you or holding the takers accountable. BEWARE!

I tried for 2 weeks to get support- Airtasker took and held my money and I still have not received it back though jobs were cancelled!

Australian base company with terrible customer service no consideration for their tasks whatsoever.
Expensive but paying for convenience
The rates are expensive in my opinion but honestly these people get the job done and QUICK! Recently posted a job at 8pm and I had it done by 10pm. Sooo stoked! So yes if you have an extra $100-$200 you’re willing to spend, highly recommend this app.

Restricted in person jobs in my account
They have restricted my account for in person jobs since I have posted complaints and bad reviews about Airtasker, actually what they are doing and how they are fooling people. Now if I delete the app and reinstall then I can see the filters but the moment I refresh the app everything is gone except remote jobs and guess what, you can’t even find the option to change the filters. Being big giants this is how they are killing people who raise voices against them!

Great but…
Airtasker is a great platform and I’ve always received prompt service from quality tradespeople. I’ve had no issues finding reliable people to get jobs done.
My only criticism is the fees. While I like the option to leave a tip for the tradesperson, I was disappointed to learn that Airtasker takes a portion of that tip rather than passing the full amount on to the person who completed the work. A tip is intended as a direct reward for the tradie, so keeping part of it feels unfair and leaves a bad taste.
Overall, a good platform with excellent service, but I believe tips should go 100% to the tradesperson who earned them.

Dodgy AF
Signed up for membership and have to contact customer support to cancel auto renewal. Didn't even know it was going to auto renew when signing up. 100 bucks gone. No refund of fee even though tradie has been no show. Never using this thing again
