Helpful but lacks older devices
Really helpful to keep an eye on storage space requirements. Just sad that older devices like Ki Pro, Ki Pro mini and Ki Pro Quad are absent from the device selection.
Crashes with iOS 17.
This was a handy app for checking run time but crashes now. Was inputting a 240 gig drive and then went to select other functions and it instantly crashes. Deleted and reinstalled but no happiness. Sad, was helpful while it worked.

App Needs to be Updated

Great tool
Works well.
HDV bit rate wrong
I use this app a lot. I just noticed today that the HDV bit rate is set at 1.5 Mbps. I use DV25 instead, but that error should probably be fixed.
Really useful for digital preservation usage
I’ve been using this app on and off for a few years now, calculating file sizes for long term preservation storage. It’s a very useful timesaver.
In the last couple of years a large number of archives have moved preservation files to long term storage on the FFV1 codec (version 3) and it would be amazing if you could add support for this - it would be a real asset for archivists around the world.

Does the job
My feedback for the devs: it has some flaws. The resolutions dropdown MUST describe actual dimensions and not just the name “4K FULL”. Hard to compare results from different sources when terminology changes and I still can’t work out what size “4K FULL” is supposed to be. Clarity is a key step on the way to accuracy.
An on/off switch for audio would be more helpful than manually selecting “0 ch” to show the result without audio included. Some defaults are strange: first time using the app and it chose 14.98 FPS and 8-bit 32 kHz audio as the default, there are more common default combinations which are applicable to more people (like 23.98 FPS and 24-bit 48 kHz audio).
Compliments: being able to enter a specific TC duration is a fantastic and simple idea, which other calculators haven’t considered. Good job.

All-time favorite
I have been using this app probably since “version 1.0” (8 years ago?) It has been my go-to for calculating data rates from the days of SD DVD authoring, through HD 1080p field acquisition, and still going strong as I shoot 4K on my a7s II with VideoDevices outboard ProRes recorder. That’s gotta be some kind of record for longest-running app..? Plus it’s rock-solid and intuitively laid out. A very belated “thank you!!” to the good folks at AJA.

Thank you for fixing it
V3 Ruins a Once-Useful App
Updated to v3, and was disappointed to find what feels like a v1 beta. UI is stripped to nothing, number fields pull up the full keyboard, slow to launch, typos in the codec selections, and still no Canon XF-AVC listings. I use the app literally every day and it's supposed to be quick and easy--now I want to find another solution.

Great datacalc app!!!
I really love this app. For anyone in the tech side of the content ecosystem, this is an ideal app in figuring out file size and runtime when dealing with various codecs, formats, file size selections, etc.
If only it had a bitrate option to calculate also, that would make it a 5-star!!!

Great app, but...
Works well but I think the Sony raw 16 bit estimates are off. Also would love to see a bits per second field since manufactures insist on using bits when describing codecs instead of bytes.
Great data calculator
Great app, fast and easy to use.
Great Tool
With the availability of digital cinema cameras, a tool like this is indispensable. It works as advertised and presents a simple yet elegant graphic user interface. My only wish is that in they offer Compressed CinemaDNG (raw) for the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera (BMPCC) as one of the selectable codecs. The BMPCC is rapidly becoming a go to camera for indie filmmakers and it has a vibrant community pushing quality work on it. Great app!

Great but inaccurate
This is a great application, well thought out and usable - BUT some of the information is incorrect, by a substantial margin, so if it is critical, cross check with other sources.
Great new look
Very useful tool
The latest version has a much improved
User interface
Suggestion: would like the storage space to always be in Bytes regardless
