Crashed upon first use for 18hrs

This device crashed upon my first time using it basically locked itself out, and upon looking at forums and stuff there was nothing that I could do about eighteen hours. Ridiculous software and product. If you’re a professional and need things to work, don’t buy this. It’s not worth the risk, get a tentacle.

Response from developer

Hi, we’re sorry to hear about this issue. Could you please record a short video showing the problem and send it to our support team at contact.siduslink@aputure.com ? This will help us troubleshoot and resolve it faster. Thank you!

Please add built-in support for the iPhone camera to sync to timecode!

I have the kit version of the TC1 - brilliant gear! But you cannot have too many cameras!
So why not enable timecode syncing on the iphone as well with this app? That would be a game changer. And even better if multiple iphones could be used on the same shoot, one as the master and others as slaves!

One Major Issue + a few other warnings

UI is great and all, but in the field, this app has one major red flag that sadly has given me more work and headaches than what it’s designed to do: save time.

1) If your phone auto locks or sleeps, you will no longer have accurate syncs on your devices. If you set your phone to never sleep, some devices (I use 8 PR-2s) will turn gray and show that they’re off when in reality, they’re still on.

2) Can color code and name devices + group them all, which works seamlessly

3) not sure if you can already, but would be great to control time code from the app by having PR-2s + the deity time code in one group

4) Connection issues are a pain having to connect and reconnect all. The, time.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback! When using multiple devices, increased network load and Bluetooth limitations may cause some data delays, but this does not affect the actual synchronization status of the devices. You can confirm synchronization by checking the green flashing light on the device. We are continuously optimizing connection issues and appreciate your understanding. The grouping feature you mentioned is now available in the app—feel free to try it out! If you have any further requests or suggestions, we would love to hear them and improve. You can contact us at: contact.siduslink@aputure.com.

Needs some protection against stopping recording

This is a good functional app, but it defeats the PR-2’s nice long press which is required to get it out of recording mode. It’s too easy to bump the button in the app and stop the recording. Ideally there should be a menu option where you can enable a mode which requires having to long press or use a button combo to stop recording, similar to apogee MetaRecorder app

Great for timecode & sync, less great for recording

I get that Deity’s PR-2 recorder is new and Deity is new to recorders, but this app should include the ability to add metadata to recordings. This is a pretty common feature these days that is conspicuously absent on the PR-2/Sidus Audio combination. Also missing is the ability to turn the recorder off remotely, and audio file transfer to the app to share to send elsewhere.
