Extremely basic and lacks speed and stability
I’ve been using SmallRig lights for over four years, and I can honestly say the GoGo app is the biggest disappointment in their entire ecosystem.
SmallRig advertises that their lights are app controllable. Technically that’s true, but the experience is so frustrating that I usually avoid using the app altogether.
The biggest problem is controlling multiple lights. I’ll connect to one light, make my adjustments, then switch to another light, and it often resets or carries over settings from the previous light instead of simply showing the settings for the one I’m connected to. It makes working with multiple lights incredibly frustrating.
It gets even worse if I don’t use my lights for a week or two. I usually have to reset everything and pair all of my lights again. Even after doing that, they often fail to connect or take forever. Every shoot starts with fighting the app instead of setting up my lighting.
The app is painfully slow and unreliable. It feels like all of SmallRig’s attention has gone into supporting their microphones while the lighting side has been left behind. As someone who has invested in several of their lights, that’s incredibly disappointing.
The best comparison I can make is this: it’s like selling someone a sports car that technically has four wheels and a steering wheel, but it’s the slowest car on the road. Sure, it qualifies as a sports car, but nobody would actually enjoy driving it.
The frustrating part is that the hardware is actually great. The lights themselves have served me well. The app is what lets the entire experience down.
If I could give this app zero stars, I would. It doesn’t need a few bug fixes. It needs a complete overhaul.

I cannot use the app. I’ve connected my light just fine but everytime I try to adjust my light via my phone it crashes.

RC 120B Will not connect.
This app doesn’t even give you the option to select lights as the add button doesn’t work.
Worst app!
Possibly the worst app on my phone. Of all the lights and equipment I have, this is the one I dread using the most. Having to log in almost everytime I use my light is painful. Not being able to add my rc120b to the app now is just ridiculous. Even the app logo saying “go go” instead of smallrig is stupid! Please fix it!
