About
Everyone has a place they'd go if they could. A store where the shelves happen to be stocked with exactly what you love — because everything on them is already yours.
Albumary makes that out of your Apple Music library. Somewhere to experience your music, not just play it.
THE STORE
Albums become records in crates. Playlists become cassettes. Covers become sleeves you turn over. Credits become searchable. Menus become rooms you walk between.
Pull a record off the shelf, turn it over, read the back, slide it out of the sleeve.
CREDITS
Follow a drummer out of one record and find her on three others you never connected. Search by the people on a record, not its title. A connection map draws the lines between them — the kind of findings record sleeves used to bring.
Where the sources don't know a record, the store says so.
EVERY DAY
The counter remembers where you left off and keeps what you played within reach. Hear something worth keeping and hand it to the counter, the way you'd hand a record to the shopkeeper — it's on hold there when you come back to it. Put albums on your shelf and they're waiting in the car. Record your own tapes from anything on the shelves.
That's the point: a reason to go back into a library you stopped visiting, and to play what's already in it.
WHAT IT KNOWS, AND WHAT IT DOESN'T
Your library is exact: what's yours, what's on each record, what you played last Tuesday. That's read straight from your library and never guessed at.
Everything around the record — the year, the personnel, the story — was typed in over decades by collectors, at MusicBrainz, Discogs, Wikipedia, Last.fm and the Cover Art Archive. So it's thick where a lot of people cared and thin where fewer did. A famous album arrives complete. A local pressing may arrive quiet.
Where you know better, you can put it right — your correction outranks every source, permanently.
ONE PAYMENT
One payment. No subscription. Yours to keep.
It covers Mac, iPhone, iPad and CarPlay, and everyone in your family.
The whole store is there on the first day. Nothing held back for a tier, nothing metered, nothing generated.
Free for 21 days, counted from the first time your store opens with albums in it.
WHAT IT DOESN'T DO
No ads. No tracking. No analytics. No third-party SDKs. No account to make, nothing to sign up for, nothing to accept.
No server of ours. What you type stays on your device. The app fetches record details from the five public sources above — nothing about you goes with the request.
WHAT YOU NEED
An Apple Music subscription and a library with albums saved to it. Albumary reads your library; with an empty one, the shelves are waiting rather than stocked.
Built by one person, in four months, inspired by my grandmother's record store, where I grew up.
