Got this app for a recent Guyana trip given the paucity of portable field guide books And as an addition to Merlin.
Great guide, easy to use and to record sightings. Illustrations are not always exactly as seen in the field but was not much of an issue.
There were however a number of birds whose names have changed over the years. Sometimes mentioned in the description as alternative names, but gave rise to a little confusion.
Overall though I would recommend this app to anyone visiting the region. Which by the way is an amazing birding destination, saw well over 100 new species to me in 2 weeks.

Convenient well laid out app
Not used it yet in the field but looks like a well laid out app with plenty of calls included. Illustrations appear good and a much better option than lugging around big field guides, especially where flight weight restrictions are tight.
Great birding tool!
Fantastic app based on a top guide to the birds of northern South America. The app is well organized, easy to use, has good facility for listing or simply observing, and excellent sound options for both listening and learning. I'm using the app in preparation for a trip to Suriname and have found it enormously useful and a pleasure.

Excited to Use!
Recently downloaded to study in preparation for a birding trip in Guyana.
Obviously, immediate advantages of the app over carrying a text are audible bird call recordings and no additional weight. As always, you can’t flip through the data the same as in a book format. Nevertheless, I was delighted to see that I could easily and quickly look at all family groups and see all the respective members in a scroll-down screen.
I like the convenience and all the data included. Looking forward to using in the field!

Essential requirement in the Jungle!
We used this app for our trip to remote areas of Guyana. We would have been really frustrated without it. There are so many bird species and usually we didn’t have any access to the internet as WiFi and a phone network were in scarce supply. As we were restricted to only 17.5 kg for our combined hold and hand luggage and my camera equipment alone weighed 9kg a heavy guide book was one of the first things to be left behind. The app was a great replacement for bird ID and accompanying information. Highly recommended
