The people in the reviews are right for once
I think for once, the people who are reviewing this game are right! Because there is no way to customize the controls to fit your style of gameplay and worse of all, I have a big phone(iPhone 16 plus) and it makes absolute NO SENSE why there should feel the need to have a golden border on the screen, it makes the game and the screen smaller!! Worse of all, it’s hard to play without the controller! I hope that this game supports backbone controller because I want to play this game with a backbone!

Game issue without controller support
I bought this game without read the reviews which I should have done so to avoid a bad experience. I absolutely love this game like I have it on PS and Switch. So, I thought I would have an amazing experience and wanted to play it again, but with my phone. Turn out… there are some things that I can’t do or have the access to due to no controller support like I couldn’t switch to different character on the menu for their status, equipment, etc. that’s when I realized I wouldn’t be able to play this game with full functionality without controller support in the beginning.
I’m really disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this game on your phone. Till this game has a controller support, you’re better off play it on switch or PS without worry that you wouldn’t be able to have access to certain things like few features in menu and such.

Missing essential port elements
[I’ll update my review with a proper one once I finish the game, or this gets fixed.]
This game is really only playable on iPhones. It does NOT support controllers, but I mostly like their approach to cloning Romancing SaGa’s touch controls, however it does feel kinda clunky on the right side.
I would also suggest doing a bit of a UI overhaul. The game shouldn’t have a third letterbox on the bottom for notched/island devices, which I sort of understand they did to avoid overlapping the iOS home bar. Not to mention this game was likely designed for 16:9 in mind. The porting team could’ve at least placed the bottom row of buttons above the home bar.
Another thing I really dislike is how micro the buttons are, but are practically the perfect size on iPads. Except one big issue: The controls are absolutely MASSIVE on iPads. Remember: There’s no controller support. There’s no option to change up the scaling of the joysticks at all, and it feels a bit too much like a lazy port for mobile. It feels like this game was more made for the “old style” iPhones with bezels, i.e. the iPhone 8, 7, SE2 etc.
Another missing item are cloud saves. The porting team made the same mistake of a decision that Spike Chunsoft made with their almost impeccable ports of Danganronpa of not including any sort of iCloud integration. Pick one or the other device to play this game. There’s no graphical or performance differences playing on a high end iPad or a mid-range iPhone in 2023, but I would at least prefer these improvements on the surface for this port.

Almost perfect
Would be nice if it had controller support or proper touch controls instead of dragging controls, the game works just fine but it would be nice to have the alt options for the controls. Arc Sys pleas update the game.
