Awful experience, they changed me saying that it’s holding fee and then gosted me for weeks and also sold my phone number to scammers and I’ve been receiving scam calls ever since and when I tried reaching them to them for help or at least a cash back that they themselves had promised I all I received was silence so yeah i don’t recommend this app it horrible and really bad they only take your money that’s all

Scam-like Experience – Lost £900
Amber Accommodation is completely unreliable and untrustworthy. I lost £900 of my deposit on a house that was not even safe to live in. The property had no locks, no proper facilities, and was in terrible condition.
When I reported these issues, Amber offered no real support or accountability. Instead, they allowed the landlord to keep my deposit despite the property being unfit for basic living. This feels like exploitation of students and tenants who trust their platform.
Amber markets itself as a reliable housing solution, but my experience shows otherwise. If you value your money and your safety, I strongly advise avoiding Amber Accommodation at all costs.

Not helpful at all
Every question and issue I needed help with was just pretended to be acknowledged then ignored. They only acted like they were gonna help so I could rate the interaction positive as apparently ‘that will motivate them to be better’. They then proceeded to act like they weren’t gonna help even thought the chat literally saves and even if it didn’t I have screenshots. Their website also allows custom mobile in dates which some of the actual accommodations don’t allow so it was a whole mess. I recommend finding a different agency.

My experience with Amber Student has been nothing short of a nightmare. After paying a holding fee for accommodation near City of Glasgow College, I was devastated to discover that my room had been given to someone else, without any notification or explanation. This complete lack of communication forced me into an urgent and stressful search for affordable housing just weeks before term began.
Despite initial promises from customer service that they would assist me in finding suitable alternative accommodation, I was ultimately ignored and left without any support. They stopped responding altogether, effectively ghosting me during a critical time when I needed help the most. Although the refund process was eventually initiated, the delays and uncertainty have caused immense anxiety and put my education at risk.
Amber Student’s handling of this situation was unprofessional and deeply disappointing. Their failure to uphold basic standards of communication and customer care makes them unreliable, especially for students who depend on secure housing. I strongly advise prospective renters to think twice before trusting Amber Student with their accommodation needs.
