Amex review
The actual app isn't great, whenever you want to check affiliate type links it takes you off the app as well. Just generally getting card details and navigating the app isn't intuitive either.
This is a joint account for my wife and I too and it's frustrating we both don't have full access to the full balance. That should be something the primary user should be able to toggle somewhere. Overall Monzo is far more user friendly.
The 'rewards' side I've not had too much use of nor has it jumped out as obvious to what these perks specifically are or how I can access them.

Amex is easy to use and I always feel financially protected. Only had a few situations for them to solve and they came through.

American Express is busy defending a merchant because they are their customer also. Quite sick with this and doesn’t sit well with me. What a conspiracy.

Residual interest
It’s a hidden not open charge. Not listed on the app that it’s built up. Cleared the account spoke with Amex they never mentioned this for the following month. So got another shock the following month. Hidden and non transparent.
Extremely unreliable
They dont see credit history or payment history. They just reduce limit like a robot. Totally unrealistic and unreliable
