Poor to update and now doesn’t event show balance
Very slow to update balance and payments paid - sure it’s not correct. Recently update isn’t even showing the balance on the account anymore - shame the app lets down such a well known brand.

You should not be allowed to put transactions through to Apple which I can’t identify or cancel

Surprisingly Amex App does not scan cards , you can not cancel or remove a card from the App yourself , you can not view annual statements etc etc ‼️

I have been with American Express for a long time and it’s simply a great company to be around.
Cannot access app
Constantly putting up additional barriers to access app. Current version now requires new information they want from you like date of birth, address - it takes me 20 mins to log in with things that have been filled in multiple times before. The app is a disaster zone.
App is shocking
You can’t pay off things doesn’t tell you correctly it’s an awful app especially if you’re sharing it with someone

Very buggy, crashes all the time when trying to make payments. Often cant log into the app itself and comes up with an error message. No issues with Amex support when I’ve had to contact them directly but in 2026 how can a credit card banking app be so inferior to all others
Not 100% reliable
Useful app, but not 100% reliable! Glitches when trying to make payments, never too sure whether it’s going to be successful.
Chargeback
I’ve been trying to do a chargeback for a few days the process is utterly confusing and complicated I suspect I will give up using Amex after this

Love everything about Amex if there is a problem it will be sorted right away, very helpful on the phone. And the App is easy
