What's New in AmpSonic

1.28.0

October 31, 2026

Features - On iPhone, a new Playback Haptics option in Settings → Extras adds a light tap when you play, pause, or change songs with the buttons or a swipe of the cover. It's off unless you turn it on. Changed - On iPhone, artist pages now show a larger photo on a color taken from it, like album pages. - Play is now a filled button next to Shuffle on album, playlist, and other song pages, so it stands out as on the Mac. - Album and playlist pages now show the year and song count on one line, as in "1977 · 6 songs, 24 min", so Play and Shuffle sit higher. - Playlist pages no longer repeat "Playlist" under the name. Smart and shared playlists still say so. Fixes - Fixed a playlist opened again not showing changes made on another device until you pulled to refresh. It now checks the server and updates in place. - Fixed a played song dragged into Up Next leaving a gap where it was. It now stays in its place while you drag, and a line shows where the copy will go. - Fixed songs you've already played having no handles in Edit in the queue. Dragging one now puts a copy in Up Next, as outside Edit, and Play Again Later in its menu puts a copy at the end of Up Next.

gapless playback

it has volume jumps and doesnt support gapless playback. it says it does, but the volume change between tracks still happens

Smooth and frequent updates

This app is genuinely change the way I listen to music. I was using another popular application to connect to my Jellyfin media server
And there were so many options out there, but this one is very polished and well-maintained.
The developer works really hard to push updates and fixes as soon as they are discovered I really appreciate how quickly I get a response to an issue or a feature request honestly, this makes me want to invest more time in curating my library and cleaning up tags and folders. CarPlay works well. AirPlay works beautifully and the application is quick and responsive. I can’t wait for future features.
