Terrible customer service

Great idea… until I moved and can’t log in, can’t change my delivery address, can’t get ahold of anyone to address the issue. Literally no response to emails yet they continue charging my card.

The physical subscription is great

The subscription itself is awesome! The app though, was mostly useless.

Needs an update

On an iPhone 13 this is not really usable. UI is all over the place. Also somehow can’t access my subscription. Too bad, I thought the app would be a point in favor of the angels cup black box subscription

Great product, terrible app

The product and service is great. I enjoy being able to try different coffee tastings in smaller portions from various roasters across the country. However the app, which seems to have a good idea (record notes from blind tasting and then compare with roasters notes) is really quite terribly executed. Hard to use, scaling doesn’t work on my phone screen, simple usage elements like coffee look ups don’t work, and the workflow is clunky and makes it annoying to use.

Such a wasted opportunity. I will be deleting the app and recording f my tasting notes in a regular note taking app.

Almost awesome

Great idea. Lovely coffee. Took quite some time to receive the order. Broken app. No way to know what I’ve received. Unhelpful support. No plans of fixing the app from what I can tell. There’s so much competition in this space that there’s no reason to stick with this one.

Useless, terrible app

I just removed this app. Totally useless. Despite having a subscription and able to log into the website of Angles Cup, the app does not recognize my account and creates a new account/states I have no samples to taste! I have the samples right in front of me! Worthless, don’t waste your time.

Great concept, few downfalls

I think this app and subscription service is a great concept. I was a cupping subscription member for about 4 months, but started experiencing some downfalls towards the final month, leading to my cancellation.
I enjoyed the app experience based around reviewing specific beans, analyzing the flavor, ultimately learning so much about coffee: the origin, wash method, and overall dimension of different roasts.
The downside started when I began receiving many duplicate tasting multiple weeks in a row. I contacted support several times, but the problem persisted. I felt as though I hit a plateau with this service, not being able to try any new beans.

Unusable app, great coffee

This app is poorly arranged, therefore awkward for data entry and information viewing on the iPhone screen. App designers, consider for example financial apps that present much more detailed information, yet are much easier to view and understand.

Also responses to page changes are slooooow. No matter the strength of connection.

Now I am locked out of my account, customer service tried to help but seems they don’t understand the login mechanics.

I love the coffee subscription service and opportunity to focus and evaluate a wide range of excellent single origin coffees! Was excited to share tastings with community but I’ve given up on that now.

Clunky app

The concept and coffee are great. The app is super clunky. I got this as a gift and for some reason it seems to keep unlinking from my email account and relinking to the person who gave me the gift. The app keeps logging me out, and then making me confirm my email to log back in. Even inside the app, the user interface is awkward. Really wish this was better.

Never reached back out to me

I never received my first order and after emailing them I got no response. Canceled immediately after. Months later and they never replied at all. They must not care

Cannot login more than one time

When you first sign in and use the app it’s pretty good. But when you try to log in days later it demands that you confirm through your email but it doesn’t send confirmation emails so you cannot use your account again. Bummer.

Terrible App

I received the Black Box samples for Christmas and downloaded the app. I had a very hard time getting it to work properly the first time; kept telling me it couldn’t find those coffees. I finally did get the coffee samples loaded and did two tastings. This morning it kept telling me I didn’t have an account. I signed up again and was told I’d get a confirmation email. I never did. Finally got in and tried to enter my coffees. Again I’m told they can’t find those coffees. AngelsCup sent those coffees so why can’t you find them?!
I know my numbers are correct and that I have entered them correctly; I’ve checked and double checked. Tired of trying. My coffee is getting cold while I try to do a testing! You really need to fix this app!

Good idea, poor execution

The ideas around this happen the way the ratings work are somewhat interesting, however the app is a pain to use. Frequent errors, tapping UI errors, bugs, font issues, and the lack of general intuitiveness make this a frustrating experience.

Disappointed

If you’re thinking about using Angels’ Cup as a coffee subscription service and are excited about the app portion of their service you should probably go ahead and try something else.

This “app” is really just a mobile website wrapped in an app and sadly even the mobile website is not great. It is apparent immediately upon opening the app that is it outdated.

I would honestly be okay with all that if the app was at least functional but it is not. I couldn’t not find the coffees that were sent to me when searching which pretty much made any other functionality in the app useless.

Seems abandoned

Appears to be no longer supported. Still uses old screen sizes and icon design

No attention to detail

The concept is great, coffee is fresh roasted and arrived quickly. The app provides a bit of a discrepancy. There seems to be minimal CONSISTENCY which is what a cupping should be all about. Two out of four of my coffee samples did not even have a Roastmaster profile on them, no data at all. Second, why does “Go to next coffee” decrease in number? I filled out (like a fool) the entire first coffee profile before realizing it was coffee 8903 rather than 8900. Pressing the “next” arrow decreases you to sample 8902 rather than starting at 8900 and going to 8901. I entered them in order as well. Third, app is very buggy related to the coffee profiling during a taste.

I could go on but I’m not sure it’s worth it. I assume this is a small company. In order to grow there needs to be care and attention to detail. You can’t take advantage of the fact you are the only one doing this otherwise someone will come along and do it better.

It's a WebView

Not much reason to install this app unless you hate adding a shortcut to your homescreen

Great concept, Poor execution

I had been looking for an app like this for a long time to use as a coffee brewing and tasting log. To my knowledge, this is the only one that exists. It includes everything I was looking to record – recipes, along with results including taste (with chart), flavor notes (with flavor wheel), a rating system, and additional notes (where I can include batch numbers for my home roasts). The UI isn’t even terrible in principle – it’s just really finicky and very outdated. It’s also extremely buggy. I would be happy to pay $5-$10 for this app if it were groomed a bit.

Nice Coffee App

Dig it so far, would be nice to see roaster and origin within the coffees tried section.

App needs to be fixed

Reeeeaaallly cool idea and user friendly interface but when trying to compare two coffees side by side, it kept glitching between cups and skewing my data. Very frustrating.
