Not operational
This app has not updated animal locations for me in almost than 5 weeks. I’ve had the app for about 10 weeks in total. I have emailed the developers and get no response on the continued problem. Others on my team that are tracking the same, and more animals, don’t get any activity updates either.

Könnte man irgendwie noch eine Legende und Erklärung hinzufügen wie man die App benutzt? Ich finde es nicht sehr intuitiv und mir ist auch nicht klar wie man herausfindet ob ein Tier in der Nähe ist.

Man erkennt die ungeheure Leistungsfähigkeit zum Teil sehr kleiner Tiere. Und es wächst die Hoffnung durch neue Erkenntnisse Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft zur Verbesserung unserer Welt zu stärken

Interested, but hard to use
Very excited to download when I heard of this, but it seems rather clunky in which it is also hard to obtain relevant results. Eg on my iPhone the animal marker disappears if I zoom in or out of the map even slightly which is frustrating. It would be great to be able to see, eg all white storks rather than having have to favourite each bird. I also hoped the app might show animals actual journeys ie from ‘here to there’. Will stay with it for a while though - it’s a wonderful idea!

zoomen ist ein Krampf; dabei dreht sich die Karte außerdem ständig. Beim Anklicken eines Tiersymbols tut sich meistens ..... nichts. Was sollen die ganzen Hauskatzen von vor 2 Jahren da? Die sich 0 Kilometer bewegt haben - vor 2 Jahren! Wen interessiert das?

So, I’m writing this in regards to the app itself and the animals. I had went to go check on freedom, the eagle born near me in captivity and etc. and went to see he hasn’t been active in 2 years which ultimately broke my heart. Also, if there’s a way to make it easier to click on the birds on the map it would be amazing because the first 5 minutes trying to work the app it had me thinking all the animals weren’t updated in about 2 years or so and I was about to seriously sob thinking either the birds had their trackers taken off, or they had all passed away which is just… couldn’t bare to think that … just. If there’s any way to update the app to perform a little better, and I just wish someone would explain what’s up with freedom ☹️🥲

Calm down, grumpy reviewers. This is a great app.
It takes time to tag the animals. What are you doing to help with that effort? Birds happen to be the most interesting because they often travel great distances to surprising locations. I love the app because I learned about a bald eagle named Freedom who was born in captivity near me in NC and now flies 100s of miles up to nearly Canada. I’ve seen his parents who are still in a zoo. How cool. Suggestion: Find a favorite bird, save the bird as a favorite and watch his/her movements. Find a child to share your interest. Great app, great fun. Thank you to all the people who made and support this educational and fun app.

Account Anmeldung
Die App selber ist ja nicht schlecht. Aber ich habe einen Account angelegt, wenn ich nun die App auf einem einem anderen iPhone installiere und mich dort anmelden möchte, kommt immer die Meldung dass der Account nicht korrekt ist. Das komische ist, nachdem ich mich abgemeldet habe und wieder anmelden wollte kann die selbe Meldung, also auf dem Gerät wo die App funktioniert hatte. D.h. ich konnte mich mit meinem Account mit dem ich mich vorher registriert hatte auf meinem Gerät nicht mehr anmelden. Beim Passwort zurücksetzen gibt es auch ein Problem. Ich muss das alte Passwort angeben um ein neues zu vergeben. Ist natürlich schlecht wenn man das alte vergessen hat. Wie soll das funktionieren?

Doesn’t appear to be active for many animals. Not impressed
I don’t exactly know how to use this.
How do I use this? I am sort of confused. I can only see birds. I am trying to save the animals and I would love if you could make it so we can see other animals! But overall it is pretty good!

Hallo zusammen, leider ist es mir nicht mehr möglich die Route meiner Favoriten oder anderer Tiere einzusehen und auf der Karte wird mir nur noch mein Standort angezeigt:(
Es kommt dann immer eine Fehlermeldung das die angeforderte Ressource nicht gefunden werden konnte.Dieses Problem besteht jetzt schon seid mehreren Tagen:(((

Seit dem letzten Update OK
Inzwischen funktioniert die App so wie man sich das vorstellt. Suche wurde eingebaut und Favoriten sind auch praktisch gelöst.

Die App Animal Tracker vom Max Plank Institut ist „Klasse“!
No search function.
Without a search function there is no way to add birds that can be seen in the Android version of the app. That makes it pretty much useless to IOS users.
Since I wrote this review the search function has been added and the app is now useful again.
