It doesn’t synchronise

Hello! The app doesn’t catch up with the computer version of it. Nothing synchronises. Is there something I can do to make it work? Please help 💜

Replaced Evernote

When my subscription with Evernote went from $80 to $200 a year I had to say goodbye (used Evernote for over 10 years) I downloaded and tried 5 different alternatives and ended up liking Anytype the best. There’s a learning curve because it’s much different then Evernote but I really like it. Thank you ❤️

Не синхронизируется между mac и iPhone

Ну ебутся быки. Не синхронит и все тут. Это неприятно, но не смертельно. Тайвань - часть Китая. Бог в помощь мужики!

I like the idea, but it’s missing something big

Why not utilize Apple Intelligence, and build in some sort of AI for the phones that can provide that? Maybe even provide your own more advanced, Notion AI esq agent so knowledgebases can be tamed.

I’d definitely use this if it had something like Notion AI. I had to leave because of privacy concerns, but I think about utilizing that AI daily.

I also hate how tasks don’t have reminders w/ due times. Just a nit pick.

Beautiful but missing key features

Like many users, I turned to Anytype for a privacy-first alternative to Notion. Sadly, Notion still does a couple of things better that make the mobile experience much better than Anytype.

For example:

Notion allows you to create/edit/manage complex task lists in tables; Anytype only allows this on desktop.

Notion allows you to create recurring tasks. Anytype does not.

This means that while I can actively manage a table of tasks in Notion (easily adjusting priority levels, due dates, etc) I must do that on desktop for Anytype. If I want to see a daily task reminder that pops up in my table of to-dos (a query in Anytype)? Sorry! Can’t do it!

These are simple changes that Anytype has refused to implement for years. It would be great to see them; many would then finally be ready to make the jump to Anytype.

Good enough

I genuinely appreciate the extensive features of this app. I thoroughly enjoy using it because it seems to offer limitless possibilities. You can do whatever you want and in any way you prefer. However, there are a few features that I believe are missing. One of them is alternative calendars and widgets for mobile devices.

For some reason it’s showing only grey boxes

Local Sync is Horrible

I find Anytype mobile app to be okay. Anytype is a decent Notion alternative and while they way it is structured is not the most intuitive to me, I was willing to learn. It runs well. Runs mostly local and overall would have served my needs. The main issue with Anytype mobile is that it will not local sync. At first I thought it was me using a VPN. That would be annoying, but it didn’t work. It’s not my IOS setting. My Mac synced with my Linux computer but the IOS app will only show the channels. It won’t actually load anything. I had to subtract 2 stars for this. It works okay ish for a mobile app otherwise but not local sync is a pain in the butt

Edit: it seems to be iOS os to Linux. I tried syncing from Mac to iPhone and it worked… barely.

Great Trillium Alternative for Writers

I like to write stories for fun and was using Trillium to organize them when I realized the process to getting it set up on my phone was difficult. This app is easy to use and helps with novel organization.

Good concept, unreliable

For me, this app ticked most, if not all, boxes. However, if there is a serious and complex conflict and the app crashes, data is very difficult to retrieve. Don’t trust Anytype with vital notes.

Essential.

One of the first apps I download on every new device. I’ve been using Anytype for years and adore it. It is one of the best ways of sharing information across multiple platforms. And since you own the keys, you own your data.

Life changing for PKMS

It was the perfect place to go when I started thinking about moving away from Notion. Left in 2024 and haven’t looked back.

Private, my forever

I think of writing as a superpower. From diary to powerful strategic documents, anytype is the best writing tool for me. Especially because I know everything is encrypted, stored on my device and no cloud company can decide if i have access to the years of my writings

Unable to select all

When I choose select all in iOS, selects only block… not all text

Keeps Crashing

The app is simple and feature-rich, but it keeps crashing whenever I try to edit multiple line items at once, which takes away from an otherwise solid experience.

Потеряли половину данных

Оказывается, приложение не все сразу отправляет в облако. Узнала это я, когда открыла приложение на новом устройстве, ресетнув стаоое, а там данные по октябрь 25 и все, никаких данных ближе к марту не сохранилось.

Response from developer

Hey, thank you for sharing your experience, and I’m sorry to hear about the data loss after switching devices. In Anytype, synchronization may take some time depending on the app state and internet connection. If the old device was reset before the sync fully completed, some of the most recent data may not have been uploaded yet. Could you please let us know if the old device was connected to the internet before it was reset? Also, do you still have access to that device or any backups from it? This information will help us understand whether recovery might still be possible. If you’re able to, please contact us at support@anytype.io so we can look into this with you in more detail and guide you through the next steps.

Never wrote a review before. App is good. Offline. Optional sync. Nice.

Not perfect, not beginner friendly though.

Absolutely wonderful

Ive been a part of the Anytype community since it's early stages, and back then it was great. Now it's even better!
It's truly amazing how far the app has come, and it truly is the everything app for me.
I'm a scatterbrained person, but Anytype really makes it easy to compile and organize info whether for work, school, or personal stuff. Though it definitely took a bit of a learning curve at first.
If you're new, I recommend looking at what others do but don't get too hung up on it. Anytype is adaptable, so you can use it in your own unique way!

The only thing I don't use Anytype for is scheduling and calendar related work, as it doesn't have the features for that. But it could someday ;)

Fantastic so far.

Fantastic.

It’s obvious when devs don’t care for their app and their only motivation is to generate as much money as possible. Especially in this era of vibe coding. In “AnyType” Every feature and aspect of the UX seems intentional. Meaning, as the end user it makes it super easy to take notes and write tasks.

Hate the lack of pdf reader in the app itself, would love to have persistence of last page.

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the thoughtful words. It really means a lot to hear that the intention behind the UX comes through. You are right that working with PDFs can feel limited at the moment. Improving the document experience, including remembering your last position in a file, is something we would like to support better over time. Feedback like yours genuinely helps us prioritise what matters most. Thanks again for taking the time to share this.
