That fish drifting past the glass — do you know its name? Take one photo and the answer is worked out inside your phone. Your photos and your records never leave this device, and nothing is sent to a server to make the identification. It knows ten kinds, and only ten Arowana, angelfish, goldfish, guppy, corydoras, discus, neon tetra, pleco, betta and medaka (Japanese rice fish). Photograph a fish outside that list and it will not force the picture onto the nearest name. When it cannot tell, it says so: "I could not tell." The full list is inside the app, readable before you take a single photo. Honest beats certain It offers up to three candidates and never commits to one. Each candidate carries how sure the AI actually is, in three plain steps: a close match, a match, possibly a match. Below that, no candidate is offered at all. Feed it the same photo twice and the answer does not wobble. A guide to read, not just a button to press Each of the ten has its own written entry: what to look at, how it lives, small facts worth knowing, and what to watch for when you observe it. Sources are given (Wikipedia, Japanese and English editions). There is plenty to read on a day you never open the camera. What the one-time purchase opens The daily limits on identification and quizzes disappear, and you gain three things: the map of where you found them, CSV export of your records, and the "photography tips and observation hints" guide. No monthly fee. No auto-renewal. No ads and no account to create. You pay once. "Restore purchase" carries it to a new phone. About the training photographs The AI learned only from photographs released under CC0, CC BY, or into the public domain. Images carrying share-alike terms such as CC BY-SA were deliberately left out. The photographers are credited in the app's settings screen. What this app will not do It cannot advise you on keeping fish, on a fish that seems unwell, or on looking after the tank. For those, please ask someone who knows the subject properly.
