Doesn’t work

As soon as we set up the app, I was able to change the pump, speed and monitor other processes as designed. Within a few days, I can sit and change a pump speed, but nothing changes at the pump. Tonight we had a low water situation, and our pumps were cavitating, and my wife asked me to try to shut it off from work, but I was unable to. What’s the point of having the app if it doesn’t work?

Sick of this system

I’ve lights installed in my pond and they have barely worked since install from faulty lights, to it dropping out, hard resets and now I can’t even connect a device despite it appearing. I’ve purchased an extender despite my signal strength being fine when when tested, replaced the controller, the faulty lights were apparently replaced and in 3 years they’ve worked for maybe 2 months all up.

Needs a temp badge

I only use this to see the temp at the bottom of my pond. Once I positioned the device where i had decent enough signal it has been great. I will it had a badge on the app icon that showed the temp like the number of emails you have on the icon. Then I wouldn’t have to open the app at all.

Useless

Have tried for two days to connect my smart control device but have been unsuccessful. I even bought a new 2.4 Ghz modem but it failed. They force us to buy the remote controller device. Why have this app then??

Terrible

Cannot get the app to pair at all. I’ve watched all the available vids and non provide instruction. Paid a lot for a water feature and the remote app is basically useless as it now stands.

Does what I need to monitor temp

I’m only using this in a basic way to keep track of pond temperatures, can’t speak to the more advanced features. It has been working well for me for a couple weeks now, easy and convenient.

Easy Setup

First try and no issues. Aquascape makes great products and this is not exception. Next up, I’d like to find a way to connect this to Apple Homekit.

The application works well, but definitely not screen reader friendly

It does not work well at all, using voiceover, after screen reader in Apple devices. When I called Technical Support, they told me the best option would be to use Amazon echo devices to control. Which I definitely try to stay away from the Amazon ecosystem, and have invested in the Apple ecosystem. Perhaps this could be part of some software upgrade to make it more accessible.

WiFi system does not reach

Home is on acre lot. WiFi from house does not reach pond. Therefore, useless.

Too much hype…not enough function

So I’ve had this app for a couple years now to control the pump. It will control the pump speed well, and you can put in automations and such, so it’s not bad. Recently I bought the ‘smart’ dosing system for my pond, and this where I get annoyed. The app will not ‘change’ any of the settings on the dosing system at all. When you set up the app for the dosing system, it asks you how big (in gallons) is the pond? Then it asks what treatment(s) are in the dosing system and their size. If you’re not dosing the pond correctly for its size, the app will tell you, but it won’t tell you what the RIGHT dose is (had to go back to the face of old system to figure that out). You also have to make the dosing adjustment at the device itself, can’t do it with the app. The app claims it will alert you when chems are 90% depleted, but if you’ve been running dosing systems for awhile, you already know how long a chem bag lasts for your pond. In short, Aquascape needs to improve how ‘smart’ some of these products are. If it can’t be ADJUSTED by the app, then it’s not really ‘smart’ at all.

Lacking 5Ghz support

I like many others these days have a mesh wifi system that connects my various devices on the optimal wifi band (2.4ghz vs 5 ghz). Of course my iPhone hood on 5Ghz while the pump controller is limited to the 2.4ghz band thereby rendering the app useless bc my phone cannot communicate or display flow speed on my pump to toggle. We need a fix outside of just turning off our 5Ghz signal.

Amazing app!

Love it

App is very glitchy and not user friendly

The app won’t report properly in metric. This app needs a full redesign

Convenient, but…

I like the convenience the app provides. It was easy to set-up and has worked flawlessly - turning pump on and off and adjusting the flow rate. Very nice.

Unfortunately the incessant in-app notice to allow notifications is a bit much. Every time? C’mon…. And no ability to provide feedback within the app.

Cost you a couple of stars.

Waiting for device?

Have there been any recent reported issues with the iPhone app hanging up on ‘waiting for device’ when configuring the light controller for use. Been thru all the troubleshooting. Have all units side by side so no signal issues.

Great start needs some UI enhancements

I’d love to see Aquascape invest some more time and money into this app. We have invested several thousand dollars in Aquascape equipment (2 pumps, 3 auto dosers, thermometer, transformers, 22 pond lights, etc) For that kind of investment…the app needs to be better since it’s the primary interface that customers use to interact with their Aquascape products.

Inconsistent

Works fine, But it has a pretty complex set up to get it working right instruction book doesn’t agree with the video on YouTube but once you get it working it works good

Latest Update Bugs

The ability to view past temperature data is unavailable with the latest app update. When is this going to be fixed?

Missing 3 dots to connect to WiFi per instructions

Update: updated review. App works fine, the printed directions that come with the device don’t match the updated app which is not the apps fault. Aquascape says they are updating their directions. Acuascape had a fast response time to my question but I had figured out the issue as I didn’t allow the device to join the local network. Works as advertised.

Can’t pair with iPhone as the app is missing the 3 dots to connect to the WiFi network to then add new device per paper instructions that came with smart control plug.

Unreliable

Tried to connect and would pair with iPhone but then go offline. So had a technician from our internet service out and got a different router with stronger Wi-Fi signal. Initially paired but then goes offline again even though we are getting good wifi connection with the phone. We have another watering system that runs off an app as well and don't ever have offline issues with that even before getting the stronger Wi-Fi signal and the system is about the same distance from the router as the aquapump. Just ordered the remote as this is too unreliable.
