About
Learn Arabic without setting time aside. Pick up your phone and today’s word is already on your Lock Screen, vowels and all.
Tap it to hear it in a clear, natural voice. Too fast? Slow it down. Thirty seconds, and you know one more word than this morning.
SEE HOW ARABIC WORKS
Most Arabic words grow from a root of three letters. كِتَاب (book), كَاتِب (writer) and مَكْتَب (office) all come from ك ت ب. Words show their root, their plural and their gender, so new ones soon look familiar.
VOWELS ON, THEN OFF
The small vowel marks above and below the letters are there from day one, so you always know how a word sounds. When you’re ready, turn them off. That’s how Arabic is printed in books and on street signs, and you’ll read it there too.
3,000+ WORDS AT YOUR LEVEL
Modern Standard Arabic, the Arabic that’s written across the Arab world. You start with the words you need first: hello, thank you, the numbers, coffee. Pick a theme like food, travel, shopping or feelings, and your words come from there. Keep the ones you like in favorites or in folders of your own.
THE ALPHABET, BY HAND
All 28 letters. And every shape each one takes at the start, in the middle and at the end of a word. Trace them with your finger over a guide that shows where each stroke begins. Your attempts are saved, so you can watch your handwriting improve.
GAMES WITH YOUR OWN WORDS
Short rounds built from the words you’ve seen: match the pairs, pick the word you hear, rebuild it letter by letter. A word you miss comes back the same day. A word you know comes back less and less.
ALWAYS IN SIGHT
Arabic on your Lock Screen and Home Screen, one word a day or a new one every hour. Nothing during the hours you keep for yourself. And your streak never breaks: a day you miss freezes it instead of resetting it.
WORDS FROM THE QURAN, IF YOU WANT THEM
Say yes during setup. The 300 most frequent words of the Quran then join your words. Each one is shown in a verse where it appears, from the Tanzil text, with its reference. The app doesn’t translate the verse: a link opens it on Quran.com, where you can read it in full with a translation. You can switch these words off any time in your profile.
IT’S FOR YOU IF
Your family speaks Arabic and you want to read it at last. You’re off to Morocco, Egypt or Dubai and want to make sense of signs and menus. Or you’ve always wanted to read this script, and you have a minute a day.
