About

In Argo, trips planned by you and your fellow travelers are loaded, analyzed, and visualized to uncover Encounters — places where two or more trips either intersect at the same place and time or come close in either time, location, or both. Argo comes with Sample Data so you can see how it works with three trips that converge on Minot North Dakota in August 2026. Why there? Why not? (I couldn't resist the pun) Because the Airstream International Rally is in Minot this year and 1000+ Airstreams will be converging on Minot. Those going will likely run into fellow Airstreamers along the way. Argo was made to help them see these possible encounters ahead of time -- while they are planning their trips. Since people will be coming from all across the country, many will form hop-on-hop-off caravans. Argo can help them keep track of each other and alert them when close to another traveler's planned stops. Timeline The Timeline View shows each traveler's itinerary side-by-side. Encounters are called out with colored bars to show who's encountering who. Tap on the bars for details  about the encounters. Tap the camps and activities to learn about those.  Map The Map View plots each traveler's route and circles the different types of Encounters -- the colors match the filters shown on the top.  Tap on the map to see details about who's encountering who and who's doing day trips or activities enroute to the next camp. List The List View spells out the Encounters in plain English.  Tap the Map or Timeline buttons to navigate to the other views.  When you get there, use  the filters to control which travelers are showing. Trips After you’ve loaded your own trips, give each one a traveler name. This is the name you'll see in all the other views.  Select one trip to be My Trip (blue) and as many as you like to be Friends (green). All the rest will be Others (grey). Map Animation Step through each day and watch all the trips progress at the same time.  Tap the Heatmap icon to see the routes thicken when multiple travelers are on the same route.  Settings You're in control of the time and distance tolerances that define what defines a close encounter. You can also control what details show up in the timeline and on the map.

What's New in Argo

1.3

August 8, 2026

1.3 • Import from more sources. Argo can now interpret non–Trip Wizard spreadsheets using on-device Apple Intelligence and automatically look up each stop's location. • Navigate in one tap. Open driving directions to any stop in Apple Maps or Google Maps — pick your preferred app in Settings. • Today, at a glance. The stop you're at today is now highlighted on every route's map. Choose the highlight color in Settings. • Focus your encounters. New "My Encounters Only" vs "All Encounters" mode to show just the overlaps that involve your trip. • Location controls. Turn your location dot and proximity alerts on or off, with an easy path to re-enable location access if it was denied. • Clearer loading. The loading screen now shows which file is being read, analyzed, and located. • More map options (including animation dot size) and various refinements.
