An Amazing Concept With Room to Level Up
I’ve run into a few issues, though. I’ve received badges for accomplishments I don’t believe I’ve earned, and I’d like clearer explanations of what rewards are and what they unlock.
My workouts also seem to repeat across my four training days, with roughly 12–16 workouts cycling through them. I don’t know whether this changes over time or whether I selected a setting that caused it, but I’d love more variety without having to manually replace exercises.
Equipment and goals could use more flexibility, too. I own a BowFlex but couldn’t select it specifically. I’d also like to combine goals, such as maintaining my weight while building muscle and improving cardio. My current plan doesn’t appear to include cardio, despite choosing a well-rounded setup. Clearer settings and the ability to change goals after setup would help.
Here’s where I think Arise could become something special: let the System actually behave like the System.
Offer an optional Hunter Mode that generates varied quests and training days within the user’s schedule, equipment, fitness goals, and recovery needs. Add an initial fitness assessment, adaptive workout difficulty, and an easy way to flag unavailable exercises. A Real Life Happens option and a Full Recovery mechanic could help users handle illness and unexpected interruptions without feeling punished.
Gear, hidden achievements, dungeons, and boss battles could make progression even more exciting. Most importantly, qualified fitness professionals should help ensure that the workouts are balanced, safe, and effective. The game mechanics should support real fitness progress, not replace it.
Finally, $14.99 per month feels steep for the experience I’ve had, although my annual subscription is much more reasonable.
I may have missed some existing features or settings, and I recognize that these are suggestions rather than proof that every user has the same problems. I genuinely like the concept and want to see it reach its potential.
Make the fitness engine as good as the game engine, and Arise could become much more than a workout app. It could help people build healthier habits, challenge themselves, and feel proud of their real-world progress.

Not as advertised
Second, you answer a questionnaire that asks what equipment you have on hand. The app immediately ignores this info and gives you quests with all different types of equipment. (I have dumbbells only)
Third, the questionnaire asks your fitness level. The app immediately ignores this info and gives a quest with complex exercises and more reps than are reasonable for an E rank workout.
Lastly, tracking nutrition is an advertised ability of the app. There is no such ability.
Even free this app isn’t worth it.

Great app BUT…
My experience has been nothing but positive however a few suggestions / feedback that I can provide:
- trial period: this will / should eliminate a lot of 1 star reviews or paywall concerns.
- Apple Health integration / fitness integration if supported.
Signed me out and wont let me back in
Update
They haven’t tried to reach out to fix it so I’m very disappointed in this whole app and the people running it.
I can’t log into my account
Was Good until it wasn’t.
No support when you email.
Has an option to join a discord server that doesn’t exist.
And when restoring purchases it doesn’t realize I have and account.
Having account issues - 9/28 update
9/19/26: I have a year long subscription and now when I try to sign in it says invalid user token. The links to the developers don’t work. I’m unsure how to request support now that I can’t even log in. So hopefully you guys see this review.
Subscribed now can’t access
09/28/2026 Update: still no way to contact. Was told someone would reach out to me. Nothing. Demanding a refund.
