Don’t bother

I was super-excited to see that the ARTECHOUSE had an XR app when we visited the DC location in March 2025. Unfortunately, it didn’t work on either mine or my husband’s phone. We even have different phones. I even bought a postcard from the little gift shop/lobby area that has embedded XR. App doesn’t work on that, either.

Didn’t work in houston

Visited artechouse in houston, and tried it several places. When carefully positioned over a symbol, a black hole would appear with spinning planets in it, but it was the same thing everywhere, and even a slight phone motion killed it. No actual ar at all we could find. The museum otself was a lot of fun.

Was absolutely not worth the cash

Wanted a couple fun Instagram pictures and hoped the exhibit would be a fun walk for the price. We went during the cool blue period and it was super boring. The app barely worked and it was barely worth it. Don’t wast your cash.

No audio in saved videos

I used this app to record videos of the experience and to save them, since the feature is provided IN the app itself. Upon saving my videos to my phone, NONE OF THEM HAD AUDIO. 😒
I don't understand how Artechouse can be so detailed and elaborate in their exhibits, but have an app that won't save audio. Extremely disappointed as the person who I went with, and it was their first time going, wanted the recording of themself. But it's useless without the sound.

Extended Reality from home

Incredible augmented reality and extended reality experiences from home. This has been an awesome app to play around with and experience artechouse during quarantine.
