The perfect middle ground

I thought I left a review but I guess now I am. I have so much to say, I want to preface that I had swapped to Artstudio after Procreate just didn’t feel the same anymore. If you want a quick sentence, Artstudio Pro is like the middle ground between Procreate and Clipstudio/Photoshop.

I love so many features. And the interface is that perfect blend of having so much yet it’s not intimidating at all! In addition their quick menu tool (which I use so much) can hold up to 24 TOOLS/SHORTCUTS! It’s so much more than what Procreate allowed for! The lasso tool has a preview of the area you’re selecting, you can customize your work area, and apply effects to a specific layer like emboss or outline! For me, I always have my color wheel and favorite brushes pinned so I can always have access to them and the outline FX is used SO much in my work.

All work is saved to ur local storage(files) or you can also save to iCloud. This is such a big advantage to me especially when Procreate didn’t have a cloud or save locally that I lost so many artworks when my old iPad corrupted.

The only thing I’ll say is that the brush engine isn’t as advanced like Procreate or Clipstudio, and I hope that’s something the developers would work on sometime in the future! Also note if you’re brush shopping, photoshop/abr brushes are what you’d be looking for. Honestly though, I’ve adapted to using lesser brushes and I’ve gotten around to making my own brushes of the popular Procreate brushes. If there was the ability to have two brushes combine to make unique brushstrokes, I would be in wonderland!

Ruler tools for straight lines would be great too! While I’ve trained my hand to get better at straight lines, a ruler tool would be so useful in many cases. Unless I just happen to not manage to find it for some reason.

Long time user

recent update: i kept getting an auto save error so i did what it said. about closing and reopening. it still kept doing it so i restarted the app. i lost hours of work.

I bought this ages ago when ProcreateApp didn’t support photoshop brushes but this did at the time. The stabilizer feels much nicer. ProcreateApp is like a stringy rubber band. My brain greatly did not like that. I think this app should be more popular. It does almost everything ProcreateApp does but smoother imo. I admit the other app does have a nicer UI and UX but you get used to changes pretty fast.

Tools don’t work canceled subscription

Purchased PRO to utilize all the tools. It takes 5 try’s to select images from my gallery. The app is glitchy and doesn’t work smoothly. When selecting special effects, they don’t show up, I have to keep taping my pen or finger on the screen. When “ undoing” a mark, you can only go so far, then that feature quits. I’m new to art apps, and was hoping this one would be user friendly, however so far it’s very frustrating. Also when selecting a basic tool like a pencil, even with color adjustments it hardly shows up. I’m using an iPad Pro with pen. I’m glad I only the cheaper yearly option.

KEEP GETTING ERROR 500 WHEN I TRY TO OPEN FILES OR WHEN I TRY TO OPEN DOCUMENTS

I CAN’T DO ANYTHING ANYMORE 😭😭😭

I thought it would be different

It wouldn’t let me save my work unless I paid for a subscription which I thought was really dumb and I think that I kinda got scammed when I downloaded it so this is just a warning to whoever downloads it but I thought apart from that it was nice, but can we please not have to pay to save? Edit: I found a loophole that allows me to not lose my work, just don't exit out of the app trust me it works also that variety of brushes are lowkey nice! Edit: using the app it seems that it's overall a pretty okay app it's just the pay to say that I really dislike about it. I get it but can you please let us save without having to spend real money especially for those who aren't allowed in app purchases or subscriptions like me.
